The versatile rolling storage trolley system every small bedroom needs – enjoy customizable brilliance from as little as $30
I tripled my hair styling storage space with this handy organizer

If you live in a small space, are renting, or simply not quite willing to invest in a pricey, custom-built storage solution in your bedroom or dressing room, I have the perfect solution.
My myriad of hair-styling electrical items and a constant need for swapping them out of electrical sockets led me to bring a few essential storage items together to make a versatile, configurable rolling storage cart that’s truly fit for purpose.
And, with the Way Day Sale firmly in its final house, you can still bring together exactly what you need for a customized and versatile small space storage idea, without breaking the bank.
How I put together a customizable rolling storage trolley system for my small space
To buy a specialty hair styling cart from Wayfair would cost me between $150-250. But making my own is so easy to do, with the base cart costing as little as $30.
- Identify your specific storage needs. I needed a rolling cart to easily move in and out of a small space around my vanity table, so I needed a grab handle on top and an item on wheels. Plus, I needed at least three shelves, clip on organizers as well as a metal hair tool organizer, to house my multiple plug-in styling tools.
- Measure up your space and key items to make sure they’ll fit in the rolling trolley you choose. You can configure your storage trolley with add-ons, such as small organizing bins from Wayfair, that work perfectly for your needs and won't take up too much floor space.
- Search for the various elements, check reviews and shopper comments to find sturdy, well-made and high-quality items that work for your budget.
These are the elements that I used for my setup.
All prices were correct at time of publication.
This has an anti-tipping feature and locking wheels for ease of use. This cart is sturdy, easy to put together and the raised sides of each shelf layer will prevent your items rolling off.
I was browsing the Wayfair listings an item like this, but actually, Amazon has a much better deal right now. This one is 75% cheaper than a similar item on Wayfair.
I organized the middle layer of my trolley using clear, small, stackable bins to use the vertical storage space while still making it easy to see where my items are. These are BPA free, meaning the plastic is non-toxic.
