Who knew a can of soda would be the solution to my storage woes

As someone with a lot of clothes, it does genuinely seem like I never have enough space to store them.

Therefore, I'm constantly on the lookout for clever ways to maximize my space. So, when I saw genius a storage hack that doubles your hanging space, and requires only a can of soda, I knew I had to give it a go. After all, why not make the most out of my love for fizzy drinks?

As quick as it is clever, this way to transform my small closet ideas took only two minutes to put to the test – and I seriously loved the results.

This $1 hack doubled my tiny closet storage

You will need:

Step 1: Feed the pull tab onto the neck of your hanger

I put a pull tab from a cleaned out soda can on my velvet hanger

Once I was done with my soda, I simply broke the pull tab off and threaded it over the top of the hanger.

If you don't like drinking soda, like Coca Cola, you can still use the tab and then the rest of the liquid to get rid of hard water stains or to clean brass so it doesn't go to waste.

Step 2: Hang another hanger onto it

Then, as easy as that, I added a second hanger to the pull tab. I was genuinely impressed by the results. Not only is this the perfect, easy, cheap hack to organize a small closet with lots of clothes, it's a brilliant way to outfit plan in advance, which is something I always like to do the night before work. It also works well to organize a small walk-in closet, or to hang clothes on a rail.

A humble clothes rail saved my lack of hanging space, and this is a truly genius, eco-friendly way to maximize it.
