Professional organizers won't leave Walmart without these 6 items
Elevate your home's storage with these expert-approved favorites

If there's anyone who knows a thing or two about which organizational items from Walmart are worth it, it's a professional organizer who spends every day decluttering, sorting, and streamlining messy spaces.
With the abundance of products available, knowing which ones are really worth splurging on can be tricky. That's why our pros reveal their favorite Walmart storage solutions that will work for every space and help tidy up your home.
Whether you just need some home organizing ideas, or are planning a complete overhaul of your home, these are the organization items our pros never leave Walmart without.
1. ClosetMaid Adjustable 8-Tier Wall and Door Rack
If you're tight on space in your closet or cupboards, this item is a great way to maximize storage without taking up precious shelf or drawer space, perfect for a small walk-in closet.
'I recommend it for maximizing vertical space for shoes, bags, or other accessories, which is ideal for small closets,' says Lina DaSilva, founder at Toronto Shine Cleaning.
It's also a great product to use in pantries or kitchens for food storage, as it's easy to remove and clean when necessary.
This product is available in two different sizes, to suit every organizational space and need, and is quick and easy to assemble and install. Over-door storage is particularly helpful for smaller bathrooms or areas with less floor space such as a pantry.
2. Sterilite Wide 3 Drawer Cart
As the CEO of Box Star Movers, Duman Zhumagulov has extensive experience in the field of organization. He says, 'I have firsthand experience with the challenges of organizing spaces efficiently, and I often turn to Walmart for essential organizing products. I wouldn't leave without the Sterilite 3 Drawer Wide Cart, as it's versatile and perfect for sorting everything from clothes to office supplies. The clear drawers make it easy to see what's inside, and it's sturdy enough to handle frequent use.'
These can also be placed within a cupboard to offer efficient and handy drawer space, or as a storage idea for your shed, as the wheels mean it's perfect for storing summer cookout essentials in your shed or garage and wheeling out when needed.
This item can also be assembled without the wheels (although they are included) if you would prefer to keep it static. The drawers have concealed handles to streamline the look but keep function intact.
3. Sterilite Clear Plastic Latch Box
Possibly the most versatile and useful storage item, DaSilva recommends the Sterilite 66 Qt. Clear Plastic Latch Boxes, which can be used anywhere and everywhere around the home for a multitude of organizational solutions.
'It is very good for storing seasonal clothing and accessories, making it easy to see contents at a glance,' she says. They're stackable, too, so perfect for use in an attic, basement or garage as a festive storage solution.
The clear lid and base on these boxes allows items to be quickly identified at a glance, perfect for vertically storing and organizing. You can stack them to make best use of floor space.
4. Velvet hangers
Is there anything worse than your clothes constantly slipping off their hangers? 'Velvet Hangers are a must for saving space and keeping clothes from slipping,' adds DaSilva.
While they might be a little more costly than plastic or metal hangers, they last longer and look better, so the investment is worth it for enviable closet organization ideas that stay neat and tidy.
These hangers come in a 20-pack, and are made of a durable material with slip-resistant grip and indentations to keep your clothes in place
5. Mainstays Collapsible Cube Fabric Storage Bins
'These bins are fantastic for adding extra storage space in closets and are great for organizing toys, shoes, and accessories,' says Zhumagulov. 'They're affordable, come in various colors, and fit perfectly in cube storage organizers.'
They're also sturdy yet foldable, so they can be flattened and easily packed away in a cupboard or closet when not needed, meaning they're a good thing to have in a dorm room and other small or shared spaces with changing storage needs.
These are available in six different colors, and are made of non-woven polypropylene fabric, which is durable and resistant to creasing with good abrasion resistance, meaning your bins will hold their shape for years to come
6. Command hooks
Finally, Harpreet Saini, the CEO of We Buy Houses in Metro Detroit, 'always picks up' Command hooks when in Walmart.
'They’re invaluable for maximizing vertical space without damaging walls,' she says. 'In one home, using these hooks in the kitchen increased storage space by 30%, so they're my go-to tool for creating organized, functional spaces.'
They can also be used for hanging a gallery wall, so they're perfect for bringing your gallery wall ideas to life without the need for hammers and nails. You can also utilize hooks on the inside of closet doors to add storage space for purses, ties, or belts.
These Command Hooks leave no sticky residue on your walls once removed, meaning they can be used on a variety of surfaces, such as painted, glass and wood, and are suitable for dorm rooms and rental properties

Where do I start when organizing a home?
When it comes to the golden rules home organizing, the old saying of 'it has to get worse before it gets better' comes to mind and certainly rings true. Take everything out and lay it out where you can see it.
Separate your items and group similar items together. Then, assess which storage solution is most suited to which categories. Sorting your items back into your storage will also give you the opportunity to declutter anything that's not worth keeping.
Once you've picked up these items on your next trip to Walmart, consider getting started with organizing tasks that take 20 minutes or less.
