I'm swapping my DIY Christmas light reel for this $11 Amazon find that will hold 1,000 feet of lights — it's a game changer for holiday storage
This multi-pack will hold all my lights without fuss

I am obsessed with Christmas and for years, my relatives and I have competed to have the best Christmas tree. That’s why I have boxes of themed festive decor including white, pink, woodland and since having my daughter, rainbow.
The one issue I have always grappled with however is storing hundreds of feet of lights without breaking or tangling them up. I’ve been using a DIY cardboard reel, but now I’ve spotted an $11 Christmas light storage gem on Amazon and I’ll be upgrading mine this Black Friday.
Check out this fabulous Christmas decor storage essential and enjoy tangle and breakage-free storage for up to 1000 feet of lights with just one kit.
The $11 storage gem that’ll keep your Christmas lights in great shape
This pack of six will make storage your Christmas lights without tangling or breaking a cinch. Each one holds 164 feet of lights and can be hung up. Each measures 4 x 16 inches so they're space saving too.
I have boxes upon boxes of Christmas decor ideas, all separated into themed colors. There’s one box however that I dread getting out and it’s the one with my lights in. I use thousands of feet of lights to brighten up the exterior of my home, the banister inside, our two Christmas trees, our bay window and my daughter’s room.
Santa won’t be missing our house as you can probably see it from outer space!
I use twinkly lights all over my home in the festive period
But the storage of Christmas lights has been a constant pain for the 15 years I’ve spent festively decorating my home to the hilt.
That’s why I’m upgrading my setup to this nifty multi-pack lights storage reel on Amazon, which is an ideal Christmas tree light storage solution, giving a total of nearly 1000 feet of light storage.
What to shop
I’ve also found these decor storage gems on offer and they’re great for keeping your bulbs from smashing in between uses.
I use large plastic bins with lids and one 31 gallon box like this holds all the baubles and decor per theme for my seven-foot Christmas tree. This pack of four has easy-grip handles to move comfortably around your home and the boxes can be stacked without putting pressure on the items inside.
To stop your delicate or precious baubles breaking, a dedicated bauble box such as this is perfect for the job. It fits 128 ornaments around three inches in size and has adjustable dividers and pockets so you can customize it to suit you. The dual-zip closure, and tear-proof outer layer will keep your baubles safe between uses.
This heavy duty tear-proof bag has reinforced handles and come with three reels inside for storing your lights. It's also water-resistant if you wish to store your festive decor in an area that doesn't have climate control such as a garage, basement, or attic.
