I wanted a wooden floor cleaner that smelled luxurious and worked wonders – this currently discounted $5 Method floor cleaner is a triple threat
It's inexpensive, made with eco-friendly ingredients and has a divine aroma
Hardwood floors make up the majority of my home, so when I moved in two years ago, I needed a great wooden floor cleaner that goes above and beyond.
After trying out copious products, I can say with my hand on my heart that only Method Squirt + Mop Hardwood Floor Cleaner, available on Amazon, has lived up to the hype. The plant-based cleaning product is quick and easy to use thanks to its one-step cleaning process, contains eco-friendly ingredients and it smells nothing short of divine. Seriously!
Helping to say goodbye to dirt, it’s the only product I swear by to clean hardwood floors and I don’t see that changing any time soon. If you're trying to be more green here’s why this floor cleaner is worth every dollar.
Why I love using Method's Squirt + Mop Hardwood Floor Cleaner to clean my hardwood
Nutty, rich and sweet without being too sickly, Method’s Almond product is a firm fave in my floor cleaning arsenal. Simply squirt over sealed hardwood or laminate flooring and mop the liquid away. If you're quick, you can pick up this product for 8% less for Cyber Monday.
If you’re on TikTok, have access to the internet or scour supermarket shelves regularly for cleaning products that smell amazing, you’ve probably spotted the San Francisco bred and born brand, Method.
Packaged in its aesthetically pleasing bottles, not only do the cleaning products look good, they do good and smell luxurious. The cult cleaning heroes are made to be refilled, reused and recycled. So stocking up on Method is not only a brilliant cleaning trick to reduce plastic use at home, but it’s a giant leap in helping you clean your home without harming the planet.
And you'll be pleased to know that the Method Squirt + Mop Hardwood Floor Cleaner is no different. But the best thing about this wooden floor cleaner? The fact it’s effortless to use. Merely squirt the liquid gold onto the floor in question and use a good mop with microfiber head, such as the Great Value Microfiber Mop from Walmart, to clean it up. Simple!
Unlike most other floor cleaners I tried before I found and loved this Method one, you don't need to add hot water to dilute the solution or help wash away the dirt. Containing water, alcohol and other hard-working dirt-banishing ingredients, Method's Squirt + Mop Hardwood Floor Cleaner, available at Walmart too, does all the hard work for you.
Shopping essentials
To use Method's product to clean your floors, you'll just need two items:
- Method Squirt + Mop Hardwood Floor Cleaner: I have the almond one in my current rotation as it smells so luxurious, but I'm also partial to Method's Hardwood Floor Cleaner Squirt +Mop Bottle in Lemon Ginger, which you can pick up from Walmart. That said, if you prefer a fresh scent, nothing says 'clean' quite like Method's Spearmint Sage Squirt + Mop Hard Floor Cleaner, which can be used to rid dirt from linoleum, vinyl, laminate and tile floors.
- A mop: Before finding Method's floor cleaning products, I used a generic mop with disposable head. This was not only bad for the planet, it was costly. But I've since switched to a reusable option, like this Wet Spray Mop with 14 oz Refillable Bottle, which is an Amazon best seller.
Why I’ll never use another floor cleaner
1. Method is easy to use
When it comes to cleaning, I think simplicity is key. And if you looked up the word ‘easy’ in the dictionary, I’m pretty certain you’d find this Method cleaner listed below.
Before finding this solution, cleaning the entire downstairs of my home was a chore and something that took at least an hour if mopped properly. But six months on, I'm yet to find another floor cleaning product that is as effortless to use as Method's solution.
If you have hardwood flooring like I do, learning how to clean a floor without streaks is one of the best things you can do. But with Method's floor cleaner, because you don't need to add water to the process, achieving streak-free floors is a given. No matter what direction you mop in, you won’t be left with streaks.
2. It smells so luxurious
I expect a lot from my cleaning products. Not only do they need to be affordable and do the job they claim, but I also want them to smell nothing short of divine. And Method ticks all these boxes and more!
From Wild Rhubarb and Almond to Lemon Ginger, there's a range of clean, natural and luxurious-smelling scents to choose from. And once you've picked your player and cleaned your floors, the lush aroma lingers for at least a day or two, which is ideal if you’re looking for more ways to make your home smell nice.
It's one of the reasons I love these luxury smelling Method cleaning products.
3. It makes my floors sparkle
I'm a details person. So when it comes to cleaning, the little things, like having sparkling surfaces or flooring, don't go unnoticed.
After welcoming Method's floor cleaner into my cleaning kit and using it to clean my bathroom floor, living room floor and kitchen, I've noticed that it not only banishes dirt that can (and can’t) be seen by the naked eye, but it makes my hardwood gleam. Just look at the finish, pictured above.
Hypoallergenic
It's not just floor cleaners from Method I adore. From all-purpose cleaners and washing-up liquid to anti-bacterial sprays, the brand has a full suite of plant-based formulas for every room in your home. I love using this antibacterial all-purpose cleaner to wipe down my work surfaces at the end of the day.
66 loads
Looking for a new laundry detergent that's plant-based and cruelty-free, yet tough enough to rid dirt and stains? Keeping your colors bright and your whites white, Method's detergent is quite literally a breath of fresh air.
Walmart bestseller
If you like to keep your cleaning products natural, then why not consider Method's plant-based, biodegradable hand soap formula? It will leave your hands feeling soft, clean and subtly scented thanks to the beautiful blend of bergamot, lemon and rosemary.
