From multi-tasking Geminis, to creative Leos, this is the best cleaning style for your star sign – astrologers reveal how to harness the Zodiac for easier chores
Tap into the traits of your star sign to cosmically ace cleaning your home

You may have thought about how your Zodiac can influence your life, but have you considered using it to influence how well you can clean your home, too?
It may seem farfetched, but our cleaning pros and astrology experts are both in agreement that harnessing the stars could be the key to unlocking the right cleaning style for you.
Here, they share their cleaning tips for every star sign, so whether you're an Aries, Capricorn, or Sagittarius, you can ace cleaning your home with tweaks to suit you.
How to clean according to your Zodiac
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Indulge in the finer, or your favorite things, while you clean.
'As a Fixed Earth Sign, Taurus moves at the rhythm of the land,' explains Talisa Zampieri, founder of Two Wander x Elysium Rituals. 'Ruled by Venus, it enjoys luxuriating in the finer things in life.'
So, how does a Taurus thrive when cleaning? To Karina Toner, cleaning expert and operations manager at Spekless, it's all about things that are nice.
'Use a fancy-smelling cleaner, upgrade your microfiber cloths, and maybe sip a glass of wine between tasks.' We love the bestselling Method cleaning products for this, such as the Method All-Purpose Cleaner in Pink Grapefruit available at Walmart, which smells bright, zingy, and is all-natural.
'If cleaning feels luxurious, you're way more into it,' adds Karina.
Scott Schrader, cleaning expert at CottageCare, concurs, sharing, 'Taurus loves comfort and all things beautiful, so add some scents or relaxing music while cleaning.' This can be as simple as lighting your best candle or putting on your favorite Spotify playlist.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Try multitasking to avoid losing interest.
According to Talisa, Geminis love multitasking, which is why Karina recommends task stacking for this fast-moving sign.
'Multitask or lose interest,' she says. 'Cleaning needs to keep up with you. Listen to a podcast, switch tasks every few minutes, or call a friend while you tidy. If it feels repetitive? You’re done.'
Punteha van Terheyden, Head of Solved at Homes & Gardens and a 'through and through' Gemini, agrees that multi-tasking is the key. She says, 'I do multiple things at once and love to have a video running that I enjoy to help motivate me to clean. This so-called 'body-doubling' technique is a game-changer for tedious chores.'
Alma Hinojosa from BetterCleans also recommends keeping a list of quick cleaning tasks that take less than 3 minutes, or thereabouts, to dip in and out of. 'Maybe reorganize your makeup bag, or label the spice racks on your spice storage ideas,' she suggests, with a label maker such as the Nelko Label Maker available at Amazon.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Create emotional security first.
Cancer is generally considered a nostalgic sign, so cleaning expert Scott recommends sprucing up your space to create emotional safety and security in your home and enjoy the benefits of a tidy home.
'Cancers are nurturers who create comfort, so they will feel satisfied when they make their home space cozy and tidier,' he explains.
For this reason, Talisa recommends starting with cleaning the kitchen, envisioning how cozy your home will feel, and all the comfort foods you can bake after.
'As it's a sign associated with the home, it appreciates how important cleanliness is for nourishment,' she adds.
Leo (July 23-August 22)
'Don't just clean, curate.'
Leos are all about attention to detail and creativity, so, says Karina, 'Don't just clean, curate.'
She elaborates, 'Light a candle, fluff the pillows, and make your space aesthetic,' by using aesthetic organizing tricks for a streamlined yet functional look.
Decorative trays, such as the Rosa Mirrored Glass Tray available at Walmart, designed by Kelly Clarkson, are great for this.
Virgo (August 23-September 22)
Keep tabs on your to-do list for ultimate satisfaction.
Virgos are practical and love details, says cleaning expert Alma. So, she suggests, 'Set up a cleaning log, habit tracker, or even a spreadsheet to keep tabs on what you cleaned, when, and what needs doing next. It's efficient, satisfying, and makes planning easier.'
Using a physical to-do list, such as the Weekly & Daily Planner Pad available at Etsy, to keep track of your achievable cleaning routine will make this all the more visually rewarding, while helping you to find the right cleaning balance in your home, too.
And, as Karina adds, 'Let's be real, if you're a Virgo, you were probably already cleaning before you read this.'
Noted!
Libra (September 23-October 22)
'Make clutter look intentional.'
'Libra is ruled by Venus and associated with beauty, it typically already has a lovely home – envision how much prettier it will look after being clean,' says Talisa.
To achieve this, advises Alma, think balance and beauty. 'Instead of hiding things away, make clutter look intentional,' she shares. 'Use decorative storage baskets correctly, trays, or pretty bowls to group items.'
Just make sure you keep an eye out for any signs you may have taken maximalism too far in your home.
Scorpio (October 23-November 21)
Scorpios tend to adopt an all or nothing approach, but it's important not to overdo it.
For a Scorpio, says Karina, it's a deep clean or nothing.
'You don't tidy, you purge, she says. 'You want to dig into the grimy corners no one else touches, or reorganize your entire closet at 2 AM. Surface-level cleaning? Not for you.'
It's important to note, though, that it is possible to over-clean your home, so make sure you're not doing laundry too frequently or committing too much time to deep-cleaning your space.
In fact, if you're not sure how often you should deep-clean your home, experts recommend that once every three to six months is more than enough.
But, as cleaning expert Scott points out, 'Scorpios love to really get to the bottom of things. They will feel a sense of transformation and focus with a deep, thorough cleaning of one area.' Just don't overdo it.
Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)
Prioritize adventure to curb boredom.
If you're a Sagittarius, astrologer Talisa recommends, 'Keep it fun! Listen to a podcast to expand your mind while cleaning, or your favourite music. Let your mind wander to your next adventure while doing so – it’s a Sag’s favourite thing!'
This is also known as the Temptation method, which we've tried and it's brilliantly effective.
There are plenty of other ways to make cleaning fun, too, by gamify-ing, investing in fun gadgets, or even, as Karina suggests, setting up an obstacle course where you have to clean the kitchen before you can leave the house.
Capricorn (December 22-January 19)
Dedicate time to get things done.
'I’m a Capricorn baby,' says cleaning expert Alma, 'and I thrive on structure. So batching weekly tasks into one focused session keeps everything sharp without eating into my schedule. I try to dedicate one to two hours of cleaning block every Sunday. Perfect before the work week starts.'
You can perfect your Sunday reset by tackling chores, planning, then resting and resetting. That's what Homes & Gardens contributing editor Seraphina Di Mizzurati does, and says a Sunday reset 'changed her week.'
Of course, they're not for everyone. For example, Chiana Dickson, content editor on Solved gave up on Sunday resets in favor of enjoying a chore-free weekend. You can also do micro-resets instead, which won't need too much time or energy but can chip away at tidying and other chores.
Whatever you choose, the most important thing is blocking out time wherever plausibly works for you. 'Block out time, set a goal, and power through,' says Karina. 'The reward? Sitting in a spotless room and feeling like a boss.'
Aquarius (January 20-February 18)
Prioritize cleaning green.
As cleaning expert Alma says, Aquarius' are free-spirited and eccentric, so your cleaning routine needs to be flexible and creative, too.
'It doesn't have to be a full clean, just a reset to keep things interesting and aligned,' she recommends.
Cleaning expert Scott also recommends using non-toxic cleaning supplies for this, explaining, 'Aquarius care a lot about the environment. Using eco-friendly cleaning supplies will motivate them to clean because it is aligned with their values.'
It's a great way to make your home less toxic.
Pisces (February 19-March 20)
'Cleaning needs to feel dreamy.'
Pisces need calm to clean.
'Turn it into a vibe,' says cleaning expert Karina. 'Cleaning needs to feel dreamy. Soft lighting, relaxing music, a flowy pace. You might start removing dust and end up organizing your bookshelf based on emotion, and that's okay.'
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Aries love a challenge.
Talisa Zampieri, who has taught two million seekers about the worlds of traditional astrology, explains, 'As a Cardinal Fire Sign, Aries like speed; as the first sign of the Zodiac, it also likes to win!'
This is definitely something that cleaning professional Alma Hinojosa agrees with. 'Oh, my kid is an Aries,' she says. 'She does everything quickly, with minimal fuss, but with instant results.
'I say, try setting a timer for 5-minute cleaning challenges and decluttering sessions. Run through a room, grab anything that doesn't belong, and toss it or put it away.'
Using a storage basket, such as the Mainstays Plastic Storage Bin available at Walmart, is great for collecting items up to sort afterward. You can also, as Talisa suggests, even make these quick bursts a competition with your partner, or family member.
