Whether you're shopping for storage solutions statement furniture, seasonal decor, or brand-new bedding, you'll find everything you need to upgrade your home and garden at Target.
As an eCommerce Editor, I spend my days window-shopping the world's best home retailers to bring you the hottest appliances and best-looking homeware at the fairest price. Compared to the likes of Nordstrom and Williams Sonoma, Target is far more affordable, but it's easy to feel spoiled for choice. First, I'll drop a few quick links to help you shop the Target sales by department. Then I'll tell you the best times to shop to get the lowest prices at Target and explain a little more about what makes a good deal.

When is the best time to get a deal at Target?
Target Circle Week deals
If you're a Target Circle member (more on that in a moment), you can shop Target Circle Week: a seven-day sales event across everything at Target.
In previous years, I've seen as much as 50% off thousands of items, from seasonal decor to back-to-school essentials. It's a great opportunity for Target to shift old stock to make way for the new season.
Normally, you'll see a few Target Circle Weeks in a year, but the exact dates won't be announced until nearer the time. Sign up for the Target email list to stay in the loop.
Target Black Friday deals
This year, Black Friday falls on November 28. Judging by previous years, I'd expect Target to start dropping discounts in early November.
Sign up to the Homes & Gardens newsletter
Design expertise in your inbox – from inspiring decorating ideas and beautiful celebrity homes to practical gardening advice and shopping round-ups.
Historically, I've seen the deepest discounts on home appliances, from air fryers to vacuum cleaners, and big-ticket items, including mattresses and furniture.
Black Friday is the best time to shop at Target to pick up presents before the holidays and make the most of site-wide discounts.
Wait until Cyber Monday (December 1) to get the deepest discounts on electronic goods.
Target Memorial Day sale
Memorial Day (May 26) is a great time for mattress sales and your last chance to pick up outdoor furniture before summer starts.
Target after-Christmas sale
If you can face it, the after-Christmas sales are the best time to stock up on wrapping paper, and gifts.
You'll find the deepest discounts on seasonal decorations after a major holiday. Try shopping out-of-season to pick up outdoor furniture and decor for less.
How can you tell if you've got a good deal at Target?
Join Target Circle
When you join the Target Circle membership program (which is totally free, by the way), you get access to automatic discounts at checkout.
When you download the Target Circle app, you'll see exclusive coupons, such as 'spend $25 and get a $5 discount'. These are little bonuses, but they add up, and you could make a helpful saving on household essentials.
Every few months, Target runs a Circle Week: seven days of deep discounts across home and garden goods, only for Target Circle members. If you're looking to bulk buy homeware for a remodel or renovation, Target Circle week is the best time to shop.
Upgrade to Target Circle 360
For $10.99 a month, or $99 a year, you get exclusive discounts and unlimited same-day delivery as a member of Target Circle 360.
Whether or not it's worth the money depends how much you shop at Target. If you're more a casual, once-in-a-while shopper, I suggest you stick to the standard Circle package.
Make the most of the price match guarantee
If you buy an item at Target, and find that identical item listed for less at Amazon or Walmart, you can request a price match.
When I say 'identical', I mean 'identical': Target will need to see evidence of the same item, brand name, size, weight, color, quantity (where relevant), and model number.
If you're shopping for furniture and decor to make more of a statement, but you're working with a tight budget, I suggest you shop the H&M Home sales too. You'll find the Scandi-chic aesthetic on a shoestring budget.
