I vowed I'd never be convinced to use purple in my home but these 9 chic home decor finds have me tempted
From deep aubergine to soft lilac, these stylish purple pieces have

I have always been pretty steadfast in my belief that purple is the worst color out there. Reminding me of my teenage bedroom, which was drenched in a soul-sucking purple, it has always felt nostalgic in all the wrong ways.
In fact, just a few weeks ago I was confidently telling our Color Editor, Emily, that there's just no way I'd get on board with the purple trend. Yet here I am, well and truly eating my words. Because (and I hate to admit) decorating with purple is cool once again.
The deep, moody plums, soft lilacs, and muted aubergines I once dismissed suddenly look chic, sophisticated, and, dare I say, tempting. These 9 super stylish home decor finds are what convinced me that purple is making a comeback.
9 buys that will convince you to love purple
The good news is that this time around purple has had a grown-up makeover.
We're seeing purple in all iterations back in style – from blue-tinted lavenders through to plum-toned burgundies – the best purple paints and home decor items span the full spectrum of this love-it-or-hate-it hue. And once paired with retro blue shades, warm neutrals, or deep chocolate browns, well the combo couldn't be any cooler.
If you, like me, have been hesitant to embrace this '90s hue, consider this your sign – it might just be the unexpected accent your space has been missing. Here are 9 of my favorite finds that have convinced me to start decorating with purple once again.
The viral, cult-favorite Addison Ross bobbin grinders have just had a 2025 makeover in this cool lavender shade that can look gray or blue in certain lights. It'll certainly add a burst of color to your spring table.
Celebrated in the Anthropologie Spring 2025 collection, this unique accent chair has been fully upholstered in a soft mauve velvet that hugs its curves in all the right places. Plus, it spins!
If you're looking to add a pop of maroon and unexpected red, this charming little mushroom lamp does it all. Not only that but it is totally portable, with a dimmable LED light that is easily rechargeable.
Jewellery brand Completedworks' unique glass candlestick holder has been designed to look like melting wax. Its sculpted, organic shape is finished in a lilac hue that plays perfectly with colorful taper candles.
While the bathroom doesn't feel like the most obvious room to introduce a trending color to, these playfully striped bath towels are the perfect way to elevate a functional space in an instant.
The unexpected color combination of red and purple is proving to be a popular one this year. Handpainted and glazed, this fun mug from Anthropologie is sure to cheer up your morning coffee.
One of the stand-out pieces from renowned designer Heidi Caillier's collaboration with Joon Loloi, the Ruth pillow has been made with Heidi's love of nostalgia in mind. Pile this up with layers of pillows in blue florals and striped for a layered look.
Whether it’s an aubergine chair that adds richness to a neutral space or a soft lavender candleholder, there are so many ways to introduce this once-polarizing hue without it feeling overwhelming. If, like me, you’ve been hesitant about purple, consider starting small – perhaps with a new mug or a few layered textiles.
