2/18/24. I've updated all the product blocks to give you the most accurate pricing information post Presidents' Day.
Presidents' Day has passed, but deals are still dropping all over the internet. Amazon kicked off their Presidents' Day sales a week ahead of schedule, where you can bag home appliances at bargain prices. Meanwhile, McGee & Co. is bringing some much-needed style to the occasion with plaid decor deals, and Mattress Firm are offering up to 72% off Queen-sized mattresses.
Whatever you're shopping for, you'll find it listed for less this Presidents' Day. I've spent hours every day monitoring the prices across major merchants, and I can confirm that these Presidents' Day prices are either the same or lower than they've been all week. With so much listed for so little, it's easy to feel overwhelmed.
So, to help you get started, I've drawn up an expert A to Z of where and what to shop in the Presidents' Day sales. I've also picked out a few of the deepest discounts on our favorite pieces and explained a little more about what makes a 'good' deal.

What to shop – the best of the Presidents' Day sales
We employ a dedicated team of shopping writers to uncover the best of the Presidents' Day sales. We each have our own specialism: Lydia covers kitchen content, including the best air fryers; Dan focuses on floorcare to find the best vacuum; Charlotte picks out the prettiest furniture and decor; and I'm your resident Sleep Editor, helping you find the lowest price on the best mattress.
Think of us as your personal shoppers, helping you to sift through the thousands upon thousands of Presidents' Day deals to uncover what's actually worth buying. I asked our eCommerce Editors what they recommend from our test labs and hours of online research.
'For cold, fresh smoothies, the NutriBullet Flip is the best portable blender I’ve tried so far,' says our Kitchen Appliance Editor, Lydia Hayman. 'The motor is powerful, the design feels trustworthy, and the lid never leaked during my week of testing. I'd recommend this blender for anyone who wants to whip up a smoothie or protein shake on the way to the gym or the office. My only disappointment? It can’t handle hot ingredients.'

For comfort and cooling, the Tempur-Adapt Mattress Topper is the best mattress topper on the market, but I sometimes hesitate to recommend it because of the price. Now, with a deep discount in advance of Presidents' Day, I'm feeling much more confident. Expert tester Alexandra Pamias says: 'Three inches of memory foam proved more than enough to transform the look and feel of my mattress for the better.'

'The corded Shark POWERDETECT has the kind of power to put cordless and robot vacuums to shame,' says home tech reviewer, James Holland. 'It’s able to suck everything up in its path efficiently and proficiently, no matter the debris. And, it’s equally capable regardless of the surface I used it on. Although this vacuum is on the more expensive side, you get what you pay for, including odor neutralizing technology that leaves your floors looking cleaner and smelling fresher.'

'This appliance has changed the way people make ice cream,' says expert tester Laura Honey. 'Rather than churn for twenty plus minutes, the Creami delivers you soft-serve results in three minutes. It’s quick to cream, but slow to ice: you'll need to freeze your ingredients for 24 hours before you're ready to eat. I took the Ninja Creami to task, making ice cream, vegan ice cream, sorbet, and frozen yogurt, and I was impressed with the velvety finish.'

One of my new year's resolutions is to be a better hostess. I want to start incorporating more personal touches into my tablescapes, and these monogram cocktail napkins would be a great place to start. Each set of four contains an assortment of colors: light blue, navy, pink, and neutral. If it were me, I'd buy enough napkins to feed each member of my immediate family, plus a few extras for favorite friends and regular guests.
The best affordable bed sheets just got even more affordable with this deep discount for Presidents' Day. The Mellanni Queen Sheet Set boasts more than 250,000 verified five-star reviews on Amazon. ' I’m EXTREMELY picky about bed linens,' says one recent customer, 'and I love the Mellanni Queen Sheet Set. Each sheet stays put, looks great, and feels comfortable. No wrinkling, not too warm yet not too cold, either. My only concern is the fabric is on the thinner side. Still, they wash and dry very well, and I would definitely purchase again.'
If you love the mid century modern aesthetic, but you're keen to avoid the higher prices of Magnolia and McGee & Co., consider this chair from Amazon. Between the sleek silhouette, the tapered legs, and the supportive cushioning in neutral cream, this is the sort of chair that would work in any space. 'Great chair, great price,' reads one recent review. 'Bonus: it's real wood.'
According to our Kitchen Appliance Editor, Lydia, the Wonder Oven is one of the best non-toxic air fryers on the market. 'This countertop oven is the perfect size for small kitchens, and it’s great for air frying, toasting, baking, and reheating food,' confirms expert tester Laura Honey. 'However, the analog timer is nearly impossible to set precisely.'

If you're shopping for the best mattress at the lowest price this Presidents' Day, I recommend the Bear Natural. Out of all 43 mattresses I sampled in the 3Z factory, the Bear mattress was my favorite: filled with natural latex for springy response and thermoregulation. You can get it at an $800 when you shop the mattress sales.

How do you know if you've got a good deal in the Presidents' Day sales?
DO read as many reviews as you can
Before I buy, I read a selection of customer reviews to get a better idea of what it might be like to use this product. I try not to be taken in by the first few five-star reviews, but equally, I won't be put off by the odd two- or three-star. With reviews, it's about quantity just as much as quality.
DON'T buy something just because it's on sale
As a sales hunter, I love a good bargain − but as a shopping writer, I'll never compromise quality for cost. Before you snap up that sales price, ask yourself whether the discount is too deep – whether you're being tricked into buying something subpar for the price it's actually worth.

DO your research ahead of time
Before any major sales holiday, I like to comb through my favorite retailers and make a wish list of the products I want to buy. I make sure I'm signed up for mailing lists to get notified when anything on my wish list goes on sale.
DON'T rush to buy an early deal
You might see prices fall even further over the course of Presidents' Day. Unless you've already got your eye on a trending product that you're afraid will sell out, I'd encourage you to hold off and wait for more deals to drop.
FAQs
When is Presidents' Day 2025?
This year, Presidents' Day falls on Monday February 17. It's always the third Monday in February.
When do Presidents' Day sales start?
It depends on the sales category. Mattress brands are often the first to launch Presidents' Day discounts, so keep an eye on the mattress sales in the first week of February. At the start of the month, you can also expect to see large appliances listed for less.
Major home retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, and Target, tend to wait until the week before Presidents' Day (so, Monday February 10) to drop their deals on home tech and small appliances.
With so much listed for so little, it's easy to feel spoiled for choice. That's why our eCommerce Editors are creating dedicated deals hubs to help you find the best bargains. Take a look through our shortlists for the best air fryer deals or best coffee maker deals to get started.
