For sheer breadth of choice and depth of deals, Pottery Barn is one of my favorite places to shop for vintage-inspired furniture and stylish accent pieces. There are no fewer than 5,426 items listed on the Pottery Barn Sale page. With so much on sale, it's easy to feel spoiled for choice.

That's where I come in. Together with my fellow shopping writers and sales hunters, I've spent countless hours shopping Pottery Barn in search of the deepest discounts on the hottest products. I'm here to share my hard-won wisdom with you.

First, I'll drop a few quick links so that you can shop the Pottery Barn sales by department. Then, I'll dive into the details of the best time to shop at Pottery Barn and what actually constitutes a good deal.

Where to find the best Pottery Barn deals

When is the best time to get a Pottery Barn deal?

Black Friday and Cyber Monday Pottery Barn deals

Pottery Barn's biggest sale of the year falls on Black Friday and runs until Cyber Monday. In 2025, that will be Friday, November 28 to Monday, December 1. That's when you'll find the lowest prices on the widest range of products, including furniture, decor, and holiday gifts.

Our Style & Trends Editor, Charlotte Olby, says: 'I seem to spend most of my life scrolling through the Pottery Barn sales, on the hunt for discounted furniture for my remodel, and I definitely found the lowest prices over Black Friday.'

After-Christmas Pottery Barn deals

One way to make the holiday sales work for you is to shop the Pottery Barn Post-Holiday Mega Sales. Over the days immediately following a major holiday, such as Easter, Christmas, or Halloween, Pottery Barn offers deep discounts on seasonal items. I like to use the Post-Holiday Mega Sales to stock up on holiday decor for this time next year.

Pottery Barn holiday sales

Pottery Barn runs regular sales throughout the year, which you can stop in-store and online. Just after New Year's, there's the White Sale on bed and bath essentials. This year, President's Day falls on Monday, February 17, and you'll find deep discounts on bigger-ticket items, such as furniture and rugs. In quick succession, you have sales with site-wide discounts on Memorial Day (Monday, May 26), Independence Day (Friday, July 4), and Labor Day (Monday, September 1).

Pottery Barn Friends and Family Sale

Outside of the seasonal sales, we have the Pottery Barn Friends and Family Sale, which pop up a few times a year at random intervals. These are the end-of-season warehouse sales, where Pottery Barn cuts prices to shift old stock and make room for new products.

Pottery Barn flash sales

Most months, Pottery Barn holds a sale on a particular category. One month, it might be lighting, the next tableware, and so on: you can expect to save around 20% in these flash sales.

How can you tell if you've found a good Pottery Barn deal?

Two terracotta stools around a wooden kitchen island, topped with a vase filled with flowers; in the background, white kitchen cabinets and wooden shelves; two gold pendant lights hanging from the ceiling.

Check if you're eligible for special discounts

If you're planning a wedding, you might be eligible for a Newlywed Discount on your Pottery Barn Wedding Registry. You could save 10% on all registry items for up to six months after you tie the knot.

Investigate free shipping

If you're shopping for smaller, lighter items, including candles, home decor, or bedding, then I'd encourage you to save your money and opt for free shipping. On the flip side, if you're ordering heavy furniture, and you're not confident you can carry it inside and assemble it yourself, I'd urge you to spend a little extra money on white glove delivery.

Shop at the outlet stores

Use the Pottery Barn store locator to find an outlet near you and take advantage of their in-store discounts. Visiting Pottery Barns across the country, I've seen discounts as deep as 70% on furniture and decor, especially when you shop for floor models or returns.

FAQs

Is Pottery Barn furniture high-quality?

Yes: that explains the slightly steeper price tag. I'd class Pottery Barn as attainable luxury: more expensive than your local home retailer (think Wayfair or Walmart) but not quite as expensive as those high-concept furniture stores, such as Arhaus or Restoration Hardware.

How much cheaper is the Pottery Barn outlet?

I've seen Pottery Barn outlet stores offer as much as 40% off furniture and 60% off decor. Remember, though, you're looking at return items and floor models, which might have slight imperfections.
