With Pooky’s launch in the United States, the chicest affordable lighting is just a few clicks away
Famous UK lighting brand Pooky just launched in the US, which means design lovers can enjoy the brand’s colorful styles. Here’s everything you need to know about this exciting new launch
If you’re a fan of modern and vintage lighting, but don’t want to spend tons of money on purchasing them, you’re in luck: Pooky, a UK-based lighting brand known for chic designs at affordable prices, just made their debut stateside. This now means design lovers across the U.S. now have their chance to snag one of the company’s gorgeous contemporary table lamps or chandeliers.
Founded on the principle that every home deserves good lighting, Pooky has built a reputation for delivering beautifully designed, quality lighting at prices that don’t break the bank. Their focus is on going beyond interior design trends and instead making sure each home has a style that works best for it.
Established in London in 2014, Pooky has been transforming spaces in the UK for nearly a decade with their iconic collection of handmade shades and myriad bases in just about every color, shape, pattern, and size imaginable. From mix-and-match British maximalism to vintage, contemporary, and mid-century-inspired designs, Pooky offers a diverse range that caters to various tastes, which explains why the demand in the U.S. was so strong.
‘We had been getting so many inquiries over the years from the States about our lights, and because of the different wiring and regulations, we were not able to satisfy the requests. So eventually, we decided that it was time to take the plunge and fully embrace our American cousins,’ says Rohan Blacker, founder of Pooky. ‘It has taken a great deal of planning and preparation over the last 18 months, but we are finally here, and the initial reaction seems to be hugely positive.’
‘In terms of the debut collection, Pooky brings an injection of color and vim to its lighting range,’ adds Rohan. ‘Not exclusively, of course; there are plenty of neutrals available, but our design ethos embraces pattern, color, fun, and a sense of maximalism. Amongst our shades, we have a large range of block printed cottons, beautiful ikat patterns, some hand-painted cards, some stunning silks, and some spectacular marbled papers.’ You can mix and match as well, allowing for complete customization of your lighting choice.
The range of hues is simply tremendous, so if you’re looking for unique lighting ideas, take a peek at some of my favorite options from Pooky. You’re sure to find something beautiful for your design space.
Marble and brass combine together on this lamp to bring a touch of glam to any space. The base is bendy, too, so you can find a position that brings about the most light.
This simple brass lantern is surrounded by thin glass rods, which reflect, refract and make the light dance.
Inspired by candlestick design, this table lamp uses ikat patterns for a vintage-inspired look and feel.
The delicate hood on this dark, mid-century lamp brings a sense of moodiness to a desk, but the brass allows for a delicate touch.
This alabaster sconce allows the light to emit through gently, which lends a very soft, subtle glow to your home. It would look gorgeous in an entryway.
A brass, domed shape lends an edge of mid-century modern style to this table lamp, while the marble base is all about contemporary glam.
This is a lovely cylindrical design which is simple, discreet, and contemporary. It’s great for adding ambient light to the outdoors, due to its peek-a-boo shades.
A gorgeous curved metal base is the perfect backdrop for any shade of your choice, whether that’s hooded, domed, or even drum.
If you’re looking to bring a touch of vintage or modern glam into your space on a budget, I highly recommend checking out Pooky’s selection of table lamps, pendant lights, and floor lamps. The huge variety of color and shade choices will leave you spoiled, and each lighting piece makes sure to add a bit of fun to your home.
