I spotted this Crate & Barrel piece in a Jeremiah Brent Queer Eye makeover and it's finally convinced me to add it to my basket

I have to admit that, as an interiors fan, when I started watching Season 9 of Queer Eye I had high hopes for Jeremiah Brent's debut in the Fab Five. And I'm very pleased to report that he certainly didn't disappoint.

If there’s one thing he excels at, both on and off screen, it is curating spaces that feel effortlessly stylish and deeply personal. In fact, one of the biggest lessons I learned from Jeremiah Brent's Queer Eye makeovers is that 1. he has a huge heart, and 2. he is wholeheartedly dedicated to designing rooms that reflect and benefit his clients.

So when I spotted this stand-out Crate & Barrel piece of furniture – from a coveted designer collab no less – in one of his transformed rooms, I knew that this was going to be a good buy. Because in Jeremiah, we trust.

Throughout the season, you'll spot interior designer and TV personality Jeremiah Brent visiting Crate & Barrel on his various sourcing missions for the show. But in Episode 9, 'Sarah Ralda's Day Off', I spotted a media console from the brand that I instantly recognized as one I've personally had on my wish list.

Seeing her struggling with the demands of single parenting and a busy home, Jeremiah treats mom Sarah Ralda – who was sleeping on the floor before the Fab Five's arrival – to a whirlwind home makeover (including her own bed).

In the living room, however, which he redesigned to feel calming, cozy, and characterful with a palette of earthy neutrals, Jeremiah chose a timeless and Art Deco-inspired TV unit to anchor the design.

The statement piece, created by super famous interiors expert Athena Calderone – a.k.a the brains behind EyeSwoon – in collaboration with Crate & Barrel, is styled with a whitewashed terracotta vase, decorative bowl, and tall candle stick to add height to the vignette. But it is what Jeremiah does above the unit that really struck gold.

Sitting above this statement storage piece, Jeremiah shows how he stylishly hid the TV behind a large tapestry that can then be rolled up and lifted, like a blind, via remote control to reveal and conceal the screen. A rather clever move that makes the living room feel so much more versatile for this busy family.

But what is it about this Crate & Barrel find that makes it such a standout piece? For me, it is a chic and designer-approved media wall alternative that feels perfect for elevating my living space without heaps of work.

Based on a vintage piece Athena bought at an auction, the Honore console blends timeless style with modern sensibilities. The light oak finish feels soft and contemporary while the refined coffered detailing and ridge shapes feel like something only offered by a unique thrifted find. Plus, it has been designed to carefully conceal cords and ample storage.

Jeremiah, who has his own playfully sophisticated collection for Crate & Barrel Kids, thoughtfully selected this warm and characterful piece for Sarah's makeover to make sure her space reflected both a timeless style and her personality. It's a perfect fit.
