H&M Home is one of my go-to stores for affordable furniture and decor with plenty of personality. Think natural textures, tactile touches, and a pared-back palette to complement any color scheme.

H&M Home is already inexpensive, and when you shop the sales, you can pick up expensive-looking pieces at bargain prices. The quality is a cut above your local home retailers, including Target and Wayfair, but the price is comparable. Discounts are deep at H&M Home – you'll regularly see items listed for 66% off, and occasionally even more.

As a shopping writer, I've spent many happy hours shopping the H&M Home sales, but I'd never compromise quality for cost. I'm here to answer all your questions about what to buy and when to shop at H&M Home to get the best value for money.

Where to find the best H&M Home deals

When is the best time to get a deal at H&M Home?

H&M Spring Sale

There are no publicly available dates for the H&M Spring Sale, but it usually starts in mid-March and runs into the middle of April. You could score up to 20% off furniture and decor, plus an extra 5% off items in the clearance section (sales on sales).

H&M Summer Sale

Again, there are no publicly available dates, but the H&M Summer Sale usually starts in mid-June, but the discounts get much deeper in July. I've seen as much as 70% off furniture and decor in the summer sales, and H&M members can often save another 10% or 15% on top.

H&M Fall Sale

The H&M Fall Sale usually runs from the start of October to the middle of November. Still, out of all the sales H&M offer, I would skip the Fall Sale. Usually, you only get 30% off, and you'll make a much bigger saving if you want for the Black Friday deals

H&M Black Friday Sale

This year, Black Friday falls on Friday, November 28, but Black Friday often starts early for H&M members. In 2024, H&M ran an early Black Friday flash sale from the middle of October onwards, with 30% off site-wide, but the discounts get deeper the closer you get to Black Friday. I've often seen discounts in excess of 66% over the Black Friday weekend.

H&M Winter Sale

From the middle of November to the end of December is actually the best time of the year to shop at H&M Home. Discounts go as deep as 80%, as H&M Home tries to shift old stock to make way for new seasonal items.

H&M Member Day sales

Member Days offer one-day deals and giveaways for H&M members. There's no set schedule for Member Days, but I've historically seen them happen in March and October. You could always switch on notifications on H&M's social media to make sure you don't miss a beat.

Member Days are all about scaled discounts: 15% off $60, 20% off $100, and so on, to try and encourage you to spend more.

How can you tell if you've found a good H&M Home deal?

Sign up for the loyalty scheme

When you sign up to be an H&M member (which is totally free, by the way), you get a 10% welcome discount, free shipping over $40, and exclusive member prices on select items. You earn points for every purchase, and when you reach 200 points, you get a $5 reward. When you reach 500 points, you'll become an H&M Home Plus member: you get all the core benefits, as well as early access to drops and sales.

Yes, H&M Home offer physical gift cards and e-gift cards. Occasionally, H&M Home run a 'give and get' scheme, where you receive a bonus gift card for future purchases when you spend in excess of a certain amount (usually, $50).

How much is an H&M Home loyalty point worth?

For every $1 you spend, you get 1 point to put towards future purchases.

H&M Home is one of the best places to buy affordable furniture. Their pieces have more personality than similar offerings at Target or Wayfair, but they're competitively priced. I've just pressed 'order' on two sets of statement napkin rings, and I'll be back to shop the sales again.
