How to curate the perfect fall tablescape
'Tis the season for cozy dinner parties and Walmart has every item you need to curate the perfect tablescape.
With temperatures cooling, it's time to take our favorite outdoor activities inside. For me, summer means al fresco dining with tomato salads and crisp glasses of white wine—a scenario I love, but easily give up for fall dinner parties. In the fall, soups replace salads, red wine replaces white, and my tablescapes evolve into cozy, curated settings that inspire great conversation and community.
To curate a perfect fall tablescape, you'll need the following things: warm lighting, soft linens, and interesting glassware. For warm lighting, candles should be your go-to. I don't discriminate between taper, pillar, and tealights—all create ambient mood lighting. For linens, try softer textures and more neutral tones. In the summer, I gravitate towards colorful, gingham linens that embody the playfulness of the season, but in the fall, black, white, and cream linens, placemats, and table runners add a more chic look to your tablescape. For glassware, I'd typically say there's no need to go out and purchase new sets just because it's a new season, but I recently came across these tortoise glasses from Walmart that changed my mind. Wine and cocktail glassware can stay classic, but I'm inspired to add these fun water glasses to my table this fall.
While this may seem like a lengthy list of items to purchase, Walmart makes it easy for you to prepare your table. This retailer is a go-to for shopping a wide variety of items in one fell swoop, and with its reasonable prices, there'll be no buyer's remorse. Walmart's in-house brands like Beautiful by Drew Barrymore and Thyme & Table have stylish, well-priced essentials that fit a range of interior styles. So whether you lean more classic, boho, or farmhouse, there is something here for everyone. To shop my curated selection of 15 fall tablescape pieces, keep scrolling.
