Swivel chairs are officially back in style, and I’ve found my absolute favorites
If you’re looking for a fun addition to your home office or living room, these swivel chairs are ideal
Call me old-school, but I absolutely love a good swivel chair. Not only do they let you get into the perfect position for writing or working around your desk, but they also now come in so many different styles, from traditional desk chairs to more elaborate velvet pieces.
These days, you can get swivel chairs utilizing all the current design trends, such as velvet furniture options, the bouclé trend, and so much more. They're not just for a desk, but also for making a style statement in their own right.
With so many options on the market, it's easy to get lost in all the choices. I've worked my way through dozens of swivel chairs to find my very favorites.

Let’s be honest: bouclé doesn’t look like it’s going out of style anytime soon, so you might as well find the most innovative options to incorporate. This modern look is accentuated by ultra-plush fabric and an enveloping back.
Trust Drew Barrymore to come up with a swivel chair that utilizes the most calming green hue possible. We were very skeptical when she launched her range, but this budget-friendly pick from Walmart is ideal for minimalist aficionados.
Don’t forget to give your patio some love this summer: You’ll be able to lay back and relax on the wide seat, while the weatherproof fabric makes sure it withstands the elements.

A classic leather recliner never goes out of style, and I’m pretty obsessed with this swivel option. Using a modified wingback silhouette to make it feel a bit more old-school, it’s a comfy armchair that swivels, too.
A gorgeous jewel green will make any room look royal, and this one is just fabulous. The tufted back gives me Art Deco vibes.

This barrel chair has an elegant, streamlined look with a lively bright yellow hue. It works perfectly as an accent piece in an otherwise neutral space.
Swivel chair FAQ
Will a swivel chair ruin your floor?
You can trust Homes & Gardens.
While swivel chairs are generally easy on marble floors, hardwood floors are another story: They can scratch. However, there are some ways you can protect your floors: First, opt for chairs with soft rubber or polyurethane caster wheels instead of hard materials that are more likely to cause damage. You can also add chair mats or floor protectors beneath the swivel base to provide a smooth surface for rolling, all while shielding the floor from scratches.
