The reviews are in – these are the 15 Amazon home buys the Homes & Gardens editors would buy over and over again
From practical finds to stylish home decor, these are the Amazon buys our team swears by

As a Style Editor, I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with shopping at Amazon. Sure it is great for budget-friendly essentials and super speedy delivery for when you're in a pinch, but you certainly have to shop wisely.
If you lack the time to sift through the millions (maybe billions?) of products for sale at Amazon, our team can be your expert eye and wise shopper. We've spent the last few weeks curating, shopping, and testing practical finds and chic Amazon home decor to bring you a list of items we think you're bound to love.
With so much to choose from, it can be overwhelming to separate the must-haves from the mediocre. So I sat down with our team of shopping experts and editors to ask them to share the Amazon home buys that they swear by – from timeless, 'have forever' pieces to items they'd buy time and time again. Here are the 15 finds that came out on top.
The Amazon finds our team swear by
I personally buy all of my coffee table books from Amazon. This one from celebrated interior designer Beata Heuman is my newest addition. Not only is it packed with eclectic, fun-loving imagery of her designs but it looks beautiful on my coffee table too. You'll always find books on Amazon for a fraction of the price that you'll see elsewhere, plus there's something satisfying about checking out a big order of books.
'I picked up these glasses with bamboo lids and glass straws this week, and I’m in love,' says kitchen appliances editor Lydia Hayman. 'I’ve been using them for iced tea with fresh fruit to keep me hydrated throughout the day. They’re BPA-free, and high quality, and they also look great on my desk and bedside table. At $4.50 each, I think they are a steal.'
Our sleep editor Emilia Hitching says: 'This cooling cotton percale sheet set is a fan favorite among my team of expert testers. We'll try anything approved by Martha Stewart, and her 100% Cotton Sheet Set has proved a summer staple. Lightweight and loosely woven, these sheets allow air to flow through the bed so you don't overheat at night. I think they're the best affordable bed sheets for anyone who suffers from night sweats or hot flashes.'
'Amazon is amazing for gorgeous kitchenware, especially if you want to make functional items double up as decor,' says kitchen & bathrooms editor Molly Malsom. 'I am constantly ordering chic pieces like this timeless stoneware canister with raised dot details and a dark wood lid. It fits perfectly into my kitchen scheme, and I've ended up buying multiple for various uses, from tea bag storage to a place to keep my most-used cooking utensils. It's one of the most complimented items in my kitchen!'
'You can always count on a lamp to cheer up a room,' says our interior design news editor Eleanor Richardson. 'I love this Murano-style one from Amazon as it’s both on-trend and classic, making it perfect for any empty surface. There are plenty of shades but I opted for the whimsy pale blue and it's definitely a much-welcomed addition to my bedside table.'
'I find myself returning to this Method hand soap again and again - not only does it smell amazing, but the matte black bottle looks so stylish on my kitchen countertop,' says celebrity news writer Sophie Edwards. 'Plus, the chic bottle is reusable so you can purchase the refill here for less than half price. They also do the same scent in a candle so that you can fill your entire home with this warm, smoky scent.'
'I’ve had this set of Le Creuset dishes for around four years now, and they’re an absolute staple in my kitchen,' says Emily Moorman, paint and color editor. 'They’re perfect for when cooking for guests and not only is the quality incredible (they should last you a lifetime if properly looked after), but they add a pop of color to my kitchen. I have the ‘Flame’ colorway but this blue ‘Marseille’ is next on my wishlist to add to my Le Creuset collection.'
I know this is quite a boring purchase, but I recently saw these on an influencer's Instagram story and couldn't have clicked the Amazon link faster. I've been looking for a way to store mine and my Husband's growing collection of caps neatly, and this feels like the easiest, most compact way to store 20 at a time. Plus it actually feels really premium thanks to the walnut hanger.
'I'm a sucker for a cute mug – my collection is growing rather rapidly,' adds Molly. 'But this checkerboard mug is one of the few that I have a full set of – and one my guests absolutely adore. It's the perfect size for teas, coffees, and my favorite – hot chocolate! The brown and white color pairing fits seamlessly into my kitchen decor, and the checkerboard pattern is utterly timeless. I have 4 so far, but I'm sure I will be treating myself to a couple more soon!'
'If you're moving your mattress into storage, you need a mattress encasement,' Emilia advises. 'Where a mattress protector fits on top of a mattress, covering the top and the four sides, a mattress encasement wraps around the whole thing to cover all six sides of your mattress, including the base. Happy customers credit this mattress encasement with keeping dust, dirt, and dander, mold and mildew, bed bugs and bacteria out of their bed.'
'I’ve been desperate to get on the Pantone color of the year Mocha Mousse trend, and since I have some espresso tones in my kitchen, I decided to create a creamy contrast with my utensils,' adds Lydia. 'I’m always stalking the MacKenzie-Childs Amazon storefront, which is where I found this gorgeous colander in ‘Mocha Check.’ It adds instant charm to my kitchen.'
I was nervous to order window treatments from Amazon but after doing lots of homework, reading reviews and checking fabric, measurements, and sheerness, I placed a bet on these linen-look cafe curtains and I'm so glad I did. As the review pictures show, they're perfectly light-filtering while still providing privacy and add a cute, farmhouse feel to my kitchen. I'm going to repurchase another pair for my living room as I'm so impressed!
'I'm a big fan of NEST fragrances, so their candles are always in my shopping cart,' says celebrity news editor Hannah Ziegler. 'This Moroccan Amber scent is a personal favorite – it's warm and rich without being too overpowering. And the best part is, it is both vegan and made in the USA without animal testing.'
'Out of all the Amazon items that I cannot live without, my sleek portable lamp is high on the list,' says managing editor Zara Stacey. 'Currently, I'm using my O’Bright Portable as a bedside lamp, but I often move it to my desk when working from home. I love that it has three brightness levels and that it can neatly slot into cozy corners all over my home.'
'There is something about terracotta pots that instantly lifts a garden. If you are anything like me and enjoy wild gardening in a space that feels slightly aged and timeless, then terracotta pots are the accessory you need to invest in,' says garden content editor Thom Rutter. 'This urn has that rustic charm I love, and when planted with spring bulbs or summer flowering cosmos or pelargoniums, it will look picture-perfect in any garden.'
From elevated kitchen essentials to small but impactful decor, these are the Amazon home buys that have earned a permanent place in our editor's homes. Whether you’re looking for clever storage solutions, design-forward lighting, or those little luxuries that make everyday routines feel special, these tried-and-tested picks are worth adding to your cart.
