'Strong yet subdued colours, such as our new Paprika smart velvet, are warm and inviting. Paired with strong deep hues such as navy it becomes vibrant yet when surrounded by soft greys or off-whites, it is a calming space to retreat to.'
3. Avery double bed in olive
The pretty three-button design on Avery, which would look great upholstered in any of the brand's fabrics or with contrasting buttons, creates the ideal backrest for settling down with a book each evening to unwind and recoup. A trusted look suitable for any home.
4. Ernest armchair in butterscotch
The perfect modern gentleman, the Ernest is the kind of chap you can sit with for hours and never get bored (though you might get so comfy that you have a doze!). An updated take on the classic wing design with a smartly buttoned back, Ernest is an expert at adapting to modern or traditional settings without ever compromising on iconic style. Available with smart wooden legs or a swivel chrome base.
5. Harper armchair in orchid
Taking inspiration from the Art Deco era of British design, the Harper oozes glamour and sophistication with its fabulous fluting - a big trend for 2020.
Claire Wilks from the Design Team at sofa.com comments on the collection: 'Fluting emerged as a big trend last season and we are confident it will continue into 2020. Our gorgeous Bella bed is the brand new addition to our fluted family joining the Harper, Ruby and Albie sofa collections – these designs ooze luxury and glamour whilst paying homage to delicate fluting of the Art Deco era.
'Riding on the trend for subtle detailing, we are introducing button tufting into two of our new shapes for the upcoming season. Our Ernest armchair is a brand new shape for the season, channelling contemporary opulence. This loungy statement chair will add drama and mid-century style into your living room - pair with our Georgette button-back footstools for the perfect set.'
