Set within the lush, green, lakeside landscape at the five-star Retallack Resort & Spa, the new Cornwall barns, called The Meadows at Retallack, offer modern luxury with a keen eye on tasteful design.
With interiors masterminded by Notting Hill-based designers House Nine, creators of awe-inspiring living spaces across London, the UK and abroad, the results are the perfect blend of laidback luxe.
Jojo Barr, founder of House Nine Design, was commissioned in 2017 to provide the interior planning and styling for Aria Resort’s hotly anticipated Gara Rock Hotel refurb near Salcombe, Devon. Much lauded by travel critics, her luxurious design for the far-flung, sprawling clifftop destination has won ongoing praise and so the Aria team turned to House Nine for the development of their boutique barns in the heart of Cornwall.
The look is modern country, relaxed yet upscale, with heritage colours like deep blues and greens mixed with organic textures, like natural rugs and rustic wooden tables.
Brass bulkhead lights and pewter pendants add a touch of contemporary industrial design for a cosy but cool finish. And if you're looking for extra splashes of luxury, the four-bedroom barn has a hot tub on the roof terrace.
