Andrew Martin and Sophie Paterson launch stunning fabrics collections

Following on from the Brindisi collection, Andrew Martin has collaborated with Sophie Paterson to create Salento - 42 fabric designs and six different fringing options inspired by the towering limestone cliffs, paradisiacal beaches and whitewashed rustic villages of Salento’s historic, sunkissed landscape.

With colourways reminiscent of weathered limestone buildings, dusty olive groves or freshly-baked focaccia, a base of neutral sandy tones is given depth from accent colours such as tan, celadon and dusty pink. This gives the collection a timeless quality that can easily be incorporated into any interiors scheme.

Sophie Paterson says: 'The fabrics are all very tactile and have great textural contrasts – beautiful printed linens against velvets and weaves with a mix of different brush fringe trims and glamorous piping options.

'It’s about understated luxury with an earthy grounded aesthetic. I didn’t want to do anything glitzy but something that aligns with my personal taste - rustic chic meets contemporary classic. Loose rustic weaves sit alongside luxurious velvets and textured herringbones, whilst graphic batik and ikat linen prints replicate shadows cast across the peninsula’s sparking white buildings.
