Best deals
Dyson V12 Detect Slim | was $649.99, now $399.99 at Dyson and Walmart (save $250)
From all the vacuum testing I've done for H&G, this is the one I keep in my own home. It's seriously powerful, cleaning up any type of mess from any floor type in a single pass. It also has Dyson's signature green laser that (genuinely) reveals dust the naked eye can't see, and a particle sensor to automatically adjust to the optimal suction power at all times.

Dyson Ball Animal 3 | was $399.99, now $299.99 at Dyson, Amazon and Home Depot (save $100)
Dyson's most recent upright vacuum is a powerhouse of a machine, making light work of deep floor cleaning across, carpets and all hard floors. It's a little hefty, but its spherical design makes for easy maneuvering.
Special Edition Dyson Airwrap | was $549.99, now $499.99 at Dyson (save $100)
Dyson are running an exclusive offer on the Airwrap that, as well as knocking $100 off the price, includes a presentation case and detangling comb, two additional complimentary gifts and a sample of the new Dyson Chitosan pre-style cream. The Airwrap is in a class of its own, with dedicated models for straight and wavy hair or curly and coily hair.
Dyson V8 Absolute | was $519.99, now $279.99 at Dyson (save $240)
If you want to bring Dyson's world-famous cleaning power into your home while on a budget, the V8 is the one for you. It doesn't have the smart, flashy features of the Dyson Detect vacs but it'll still pull dust, dirt and hair from your floors with complete ease. At this discounted price, you won't get a better cordless vac.

LIVE: Latest Updates
Looking for a canister vacuum? While Dyson's bests tend to be cordless and upright models, they do have one canister vacuum in their range: the Big Ball Turbinehead. It might not seem like the most slick choice for a new vacuum, but canister vacs are renowned for their strong performance on all surfaces – which is why they're the vacuum of choice for professional cleaners.
Dyson Big Ball Turbinehead | was $349.99, now $199.99 at Dyson, Walmart and Macy's (save $150)
I'm still in the process of testing the Turbinehead, but Dyson's only canister vacuum is a great choice if you're looking for versatility when cleaning. It has a 21.7-foot cord for around-the-house cleaning, and advanced, whole-machine filtration.
Which Dyson vacuum should you buy?
Hiya, Dan again, here to help you figure out which Dyson vacuum is the one to buy. When you look at the whole range – the V8, V11, V12 Detect Slim, V15 Detect – it's not straightforward to know which one's right for you. Luckily, we've tested almost all of these models and I know Dyson's offerings inside and out, so I'll run through how to tell them apart.
A general rule with Dyson vacuums is: the more expensive, the more recently it came out. As Dyson's releases tend to be an upgrade to the previous, you can tell that the V15 Detect is better than the V12 Detect Slim, which is better than the V11, which is better than the V8, and so on.
The best Dyson vacuum of all is the Gen5detect (and the Gen5outsize, the larger version) and that's where you'll find the most advanced tech. It has the strongest suction power and smart features like particle sensors, dust and floor detection, and a green laser to illuminate invisible dust on the floor. This detection technology senses what's on your floors and automatically adjusts the suction when more is needed (like when you get to a particularly dusty part of the floor or move onto carpet). The Gen5detect is also the only vacuum that's compatible with Dyson CleanTrace – a smartphone software that shows you where you have and haven't vacuumed.
But the Gen5detect is wildly expensive. You can find the same smart features in the V15 Detect and the V12 Detect Slim, but they just offer slightly decreased suction power. All three vacuums share the same attachments too, with dedicated floorheads for carpets and hard floors. On test, all three performed flawlessly with whatever mess we threw at them. Sure, the Gen5detect was the best, but when you consider that it costs $100s more just for a slight increase in power, it might be smarter to save your money and opt for the V15 Detect or V12 Detect Slim instead. I use the V12 Detect Slim myself and I never feel like any cleaning power is missing.
Then, the V11 is the next step down. It still has different suction modes like the above vacuums, but you have to manually select them yourself as it doesn't have the automatic detection tech. If you're looking for a powerful cordless vacuum but don't need fancy features, I'd usually recommend saving your money and choosing the V11. But right now, the V12 Detect Slim is almost the same price as they're both on sale, and I'd say it's worth spending the extra $50 for the V12's detect features.
If you're on a budget, the V8 is what you need. It's selling for just $279.99 right now for Black Friday, and it has suction power you can rely on in Dyson's classic, easy-to-use design.
Not looking for a cordless vacuum? The Ball Animal 3 is their best upright, the 360 Vis Nav is their best robot, and the Big Ball Turbine Head is their best canister. But really, their cordless vacuums are their best.
Every vacuum I've mentioned here is on sale for Black Friday with hundreds of dollars off. Take your pick and enjoy the generous discounts on a new, market-leading vacuum cleaner.
A vacuum cleaner can only do so much. It pulls the dust, dirt, debris and hair from our floors, but it doesn't wash or clean them. That's where a wet vacuum comes in, like the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine.
It's essentially the Dyson V15 Detect (which is best-in-class by itself), with an added floorhead to tackle wet cleaning, with its own dedicated water tank. This new floorhead mops your floors while cleaning up liquid spills and solid mess. If your home has hard floors, this will change how clean they'll be.
If the below V15s Detect Submarine isn't quite what you're looking for, Dyson have since released the WashG1. I've been testing it for a few weeks now and it works like an absolute breeze, deep cleaning all hard floors with barely any effort. It isn't on sale for Black Friday, but it goes for $699.99, which is cheaper than the deal below.
Dyson V15s Detect Submarine | was $949.99, now $749.99 at Dyson and QVC (save $200)
Although the V15s Detect Submarine's floorhead looks small, our expert tester Helen appreciated how it's capacious enough to tackle a kitchen and dining room in one pass. It also uses barely any battery in wet cleaning mode, just 20% after 20 minutes of mopping.
Hi everyone – Dan here, Homes & Gardens' home tech editor. As somebody who tests vacuums for a living, I know a thing or two about Dyson, and I can confirm that they really are among the best. I use one in my own home, and when I'm testing vacuums from other brands, I almost always depend on it to clear up the last of the mess.
The vacuum I use is the V12 Detect Slim which is now at its lowest price ever, but if you're looking for something even better, I recommend the Dyson V15 Detect. It's a step-up from mine in terms of size and cleaning power, and it's now on offer with a $200 discount for Black Friday.
Dyson V15 Detect Absolute | was $749.99, now $549.99 at Dyson (save $200)
Until the newer Dyson Gen5detect was released, the V15 Detect topped almost all of our vacuum guides. It's rare for a cordless stick to match the power of an upright vacuum, but the V15 Detect excels across all surfaces, picking up whatever mess you throw at it with minimal effort.
It's one of Dyson's famous vacuums with the green laser that reveals dust you normally wouldn't see, and a particle sensor to automatically adjust to the right suction power when you need it.
When vacuuming a dog bed, not only was it able to clear all the hair and dirt, it was even able to revive its original color.
