Best juicer accessories – here's how to make the most of your kitchen appliances
You can make sorbet, tofu, and long-lasting juices
If you invest smartly, juicer accessories can transform your single-function appliance into something a little more spectacular. You can expand your model’s versatility within juicing, whilst also making sorbet, tofu, and more.
As an enthusiastic juicer myself, the prospect of pimping my model with some classy upgrades feels a lot like Christmas. The best juicers on the market should come with some natural versatility in what they can do, but they will also need some accessories to enhance them.
I’ll walk you through the best investments you can make (as well as the ones not to fall for) to make the most of your brand-new juicer. Plus, if you need some inspiration we have advice on how to make tofu, sorbet, soup, and more.
The best juicer accessories
You can trust Homes & Gardens.
There's really no end to the juicer accessories on offer, but it's important to shop the right ones for your model. Some accessories are compatible with different juicers, but others are very specific. Always read the details.
Sorbet Maker
There's nothing quite like making your own frozen deserts. You don't have any nasties or additives, just frozen fruit (and, if you're feeling adventurous, frozen veg too). This attachment is for Nama juicers only, but Kuvings makes one for their models too.
Citrus Squeezer
Technically, you can press juice out of citrus juices in your normal juicer, but you’ll have to peel the fruit first, which is a fiddly job. With the citrus attachment, halve your fruits, place them on here and switch the juicer on. You’ll get maximum juice out of minimal effort.
Glass bottles
Whilst bottles aren’t technically an accessory, they’re still really useful to have. I tend to overcater with my juices and plant-based milks, so having a good quality, leakproof glass bottle that I can pack into the fridge is an accessory that can’t be underestimated. Plus, they’re plastic-free.
Sorbet Maker
If you don’t think your pitcher is quite big enough for all of your ingredients, don’t worry. You can buy a bigger pitcher (depending on which model you own). Nama makes some of the best cold press juicers and their large pitcher is perfect for family-sized drinks.
Pulp Strainer
Everyone has different standards when it comes to the pulp that they have in their juices. With a pulp strainer you can choose to have crystal clear, crisp juice or thicker more smoothie-like drinks.
Cleaning kit
Your juicer is only as good as your cleaning capabilities. Having the perfect cleaning kit and knowing how to use it will be what makes the difference between a successful stretch of juicing and some sub-par results. This kit covers all bl bases, perfect for every juicer.
Vacuum Storage
Anyone who’s left their juice a little too long will know the unpleasant taste that is an oxidized juice. If you like to batch-produce your juice, you’ll want a vacuum seal that can extend the life of your juice by at least another few days. It’s worth it.
Wooden Auger
Most juicers come with augers, but these are made of plastic, which might gradually flake into your juices, turning a healthy drink into one that’s a little less good for your body. This wooden auger is perfect for those conscious of their non-toxic kitchen appliances. It’s affordable too.
Juicer Cookbook
You can freestyle the juices that you choose to make, but that takes confidence (and some natural flair) before you’re making the kinds of drinks you’d buy in a juice bar. Having. This recipe book will keep you on track, making delicious juices, by the book.
FAQs
Which juicer accessories are worth it?
The answer really depends on you and your juicing needs. If you know you like sorbet, investing in that attachment will get you some satisfying results. Alternatively, if you rarely juice citrus fruits, maybe steer clear of buying extra clutter.
What is the best way to clean a juicer?
Luckily for you, our experts have condensed how to clean a juicer into five simple tips. Whilst you don't need to go to the store to buy any harsh chemicals, you will want the cleaning accessories and thin brushes, because these can reach into some seemingly impossible places.
How do I make the most of my juicer?
Juicers can actually be really versatile kitchen appliances, it just takes some research and adaptability to get good use out of them. I've written guides on what you can make in a juicer (sorbet, soup, and tofu all feature), as well as what to do with juicer pulp. They're guides for people who don't have accessories. If you choose to invest in some extras, you've got a gamut of juicing opportunities waiting for you.
I like to maximize on every appliance in my kitchen, so I've made investments in all the juicer accessories that I know will make life easier for me. It's a personal decision, but as long as you invest carefully, you'll have a fridge full of homemade tofu, plant-based milks, freshly squeezed orange juice, and some ginger shots too.
