This ever-popular Monstera has large leaves that instantly add life to a brightly lit front hallway at home, a lightly shaded porch, or a home office.
This scalloped, footed pot has a perfect mix of round and curved details. It's just waiting to be paired with a sprawling indoor tree.
This Wayfair find is too good to miss out on. The dual-tone brown and cream makes it the perfect addition to interiors with plenty of warm colors.
First and foremost, plants are natural mood-boosters, improving air quality and reducing stress. 'Houseplants are a wonderful way to bring a sense of calm into your home,' explains Emma Sibley, founder of plant & terrariums specialists London Terrariums. 'They purify the air, extracting toxins from your environment and helping you breathe easier. For example, English Ivy can reduce airborne mold by up to 78%, while plants like Snake Plants, Peace Lilies, and Spider Plants are highly effective for air purification.'
She continues, 'Surrounding yourself with houseplants can also alleviate stress and anxiety, lower your heart rate, and boost your mood. Interestingly, when your skin comes into contact with compost, a bacteria called Mycobacterium vaccae is released, which stimulates serotonin - the “happy hormone."'
By incorporating a large-scale plant into the front entryway, as Zoe has done, you are ensuring that the first thing you see when you walk into a home, and the last thing you see when you leave it, is an accessory that will leave you feeling calm and peaceful.
Additionally, while house plants are always in style, they can tap into specific trends depending on which plant you choose, and how you style around it. One designer points to a decades-focused trend that heavily features plants as an accessory.

'The ‘70s houseplant craze is back, with fiddle leaf figs, monstera plants, and trailing ivy gracing indoor spaces,' says designer Nina Lichtenstein. 'Add wicker or macramé plant hangers to channel authentic ’70s charm.'
Alternatively, using a stone or marble planter like Zoe fits well into trends such as organic modern and Japandi styles, which feature more contemporary elements.
Whether you're looking for modern entryway ideas or are simply feeling the spring spirit, introducing a house plant in a bold pot is a perfect way to spruce up a small area of the home.
