Walton Goggins' magical 'snug room' is one of the coziest spaces I've ever seen – it might be spring, but I am dreaming of the holiday season
Beautiful materials, natural finishes, and pared-back design – The White Lotus stars' home takes a warm, cozy, and calm turn

Creating a room that moves effortlessly between day and night – and season to season – is no easy task, but it’s one that Actor Walton Goggins and his wife, writer-director Nadia Conners, have conjured cleverly in this cozy living room.
The couple wanted to create a place for their whole family to lay down roots, so when they decided to quit the West Coast and relocate to the Hudson Valley, everlasting comfort and coziness were key.
Given today’s technology-saturated world, the idea of retreating to a remote cabin to reconnect with nature has never been more appealing. And at the heart of every cozy cabin is a relaxing living space. The beauty of this snug room is the impression that the cabin decor ideas have been assembled over time and with love.

You don’t have to commit to a complete redesign to replicate this cozy room either – just a few well-chosen accessories are enough to transform your room into the perfect spot to hibernate, says Sue Jones, co-founder and creative director of Oka.
‘To achieve a warm room, swap linens for heavier fabrics in rich jewel tones. Also, don’t hold back when it comes to layering prints and patterns; it will help create a feeling of depth that only adds to that coziness.’
When creating the ultimate sanctuary, it’s important to consider not only how the space looks but also how it feels. Think about engaging all the senses with tactile textures, ambient lighting, and even seasonal fragrances. Most importantly, however, fill the space with items you love, as these will bring the ultimate comfort of a cabin retreat.
Inside, cabins have warmth and rustic charm at their core. They offer an inviting escape to the dramatic landscapes that surround them, while also reflecting the beautiful tones and textures of nature.

Timber-clad walls, crackling fires, warm, earthy colors, distressed surfaces, and a plethora of cozy textures are signature features of the look, but perhaps most notable is the use of natural materials.
‘To achieve the “cabincore” aesthetic, embrace materials that evoke the textures found in the wilderness. Incorporate stone, reclaimed wood, linen, and wool to add depth and rustic appeal,’ explains Jessica Hanley, founder of Piglet in Bed.
Color palette-wise, look to nature for inspiration; earthy schemes of browns and warm neutrals are a go-to, but blues and greens can beautifully complement the honeyed hues of wood and stone.
‘Stick to warm and rich tones like chestnut browns, fern greens, and more neutral oatmeals,’ says Jessica Hanley. ‘These colors create a soothing atmosphere reminiscent of the outdoors. Deep berries and cranberry reds pair particularly well with more earthy tones.’
With humble beginnings as rudimentary, functional shelters, cozy cabins have evolved across the centuries to become permanent residences and boutique stays. They are some of the finest properties in North America.

Joanna Gaines x Loloi rugs are the best for a reason. They are machine washable, affordable, and timeless. I have one in almost every room in my house, and I can't see myself shopping elsewhere for them. I would argue that a rug is the most defining feature in a room – it can make or break a space.
Subtly elegant design accentuates the Maylee Footed Bowl’s sleek silhouette. Its wide body and round footed feature are made from mango wood in a natural finish. Its contemporary, sculptural feel adds depth and intrigue to your decor.
