Victoria Beckham uses a green sofa to create an on-trend focal point in her dressing room – designers say it's surprisingly easy to style
Beckham's green sofa adds a pop of color to the neutral space while complementing the natural wood floors – and her look is on trend for 2025
A new year is the perfect excuse to spruce up our homes and experiment with new pieces, and for 2025, we are thinking of ways to incorporate color into our spaces.
While some of us naturally gravitate towards neutrals, dopamine decor, and primary colors continue to be on trend. As such, we are taking cues from the always classy and sleek Victoria Beckham, who has managed to infuse a bold dose of color into her dressing room via a colorful sofa.
In a post shared to the designer and former Spice Girl's Instagram page, we can see a lime green couch making a subtle statement in the otherwise neutral space. It serves as a complementary piece against the reclaimed wood floors, navy blue rug, and crystal chandelier, adding just the right amount of vibrancy to the space. It turns out this color is right on trend for the coming year, in case you need further convincing.

While introducing a brightly colored sofa to a room is a statement, experts say that color infusions can be implemented in small doses for those who are used to neutrals.
'Experimenting with a bold color can feel like a daunting task, especially if it’s in a main room in your home and you haven’t played with color before,' says interiors expert Jade Crooks. 'You could start small, with colorful cushions or an eye-catching rug. However, to make a real statement, select a focal piece of furniture – like a sofa or an ornate armchair – and go all out.'
She continues, 'If you’re unsure where to begin, think with your heart rather than your décor. Bright colors are often more energizing than neutrals, bringing strong associations with them. Yellow, for example, adds a refreshing burst of energy to any room.'
Green is a particularly versatile color choice, fitting well into popular interior schemes such as Japandi and organic modern design trends.

'The color green is most commonly associated with nature, offering a sanctuary from everyday life stressors,' Crooks says. 'Like spending time in your garden on a sunny evening after a long day, sinking into a green sofa at the end of the day can bring about a sense of calm.'
Beckham's dressing room is certainly calming, with the wood floors adding a natural feel to the room.
'Pairing your green sofa with browns and textured neutrals can help to build upon those feelings of nature,' she states. 'To go one step further, try incorporating potted plants in your space.' Alternatively, you could pair it with a chandelier for the ultimate Victoria-Beckham-inspired look.

Plush
Plush and elegant, this green velvet loveseat is an excellent addition to any dressing room (if you have room, like Beckham) or a neutral living space.
Editor's choice
This gorgeous green velvet throw pillow cover is just what you need to add a touch of rich earthiness to your living room this season. Changing pillow covers is one of the oldest tricks in the book to introduce color (in this case, green) in an instant.
Floral
Introducing green to your floor is just as easy with this lush floral rug. Designed by Iris Apfel, it's another way to bring a designer-approved sense of style to either a dressing room, living space or entryway (to create the ultimate first impression).
The beauty of green is that there are so many different shades to choose from: sage is a forever classic, while emerald green feels regal, and lime green makes a bold statement.
