Selena Gomez's kitchen uses 'the perfect color combination' for an eternally beautiful space
White kitchens don't have to be boring – and the singer's space is proof of that. Here's how she creates a vibrant twist on the classic
White is one of the most classic and well-loved kitchen colors. However, without pops of another shade to add dimension, a plain white kitchen can look flat and uninviting. One way to add this color contrast is through an expensive remodel; another, more affordable method is integrating color-contrasting accessories.
Selena Gomez's kitchen perfectly demonstrates the second approach. The actress took to Instagram to share a photo of her white kitchen, and fans were quick to note the turquoise knives, blue drinking glasses, and cobalt Le Creuset pan brightening the space.
The first interior design choice to note is the way that Selena has affordably upgraded her kitchen color scheme. By investing in blue kitchen accessories that are always visible, she introduces a new element of color and charm to her white kitchen. Rather than put these accessories away, Selena keeps the Le Creuset braiserout on the countertop. She has chosen knives and scissors that come in a block, so they also have a permanent home on her countertop. In the background, we can see that she has glass cabinets, so her beautiful blue drinking glasses are always on display.

Next time you are purchasing kitchen appliances and other kitchen accessories, it is worth considering how they might contribute to your kitchen color combination. Furthermore, consider the versatility of glass cabinets for providing a display case in which you can exhibit beautiful glassware of varied colors.
Just as stunning as the choice to switch up her kitchen with colorful accessories is the specific color that Selena Gomez has chosen: blue. 'Blue and white is the perfect color combination,' says Jennifer Ebert, Digital Editor at Homes & Gardens. 'When it comes to adding color to a neutral kitchen, you still want that clean, bright feel, and blue is the best addition for accomplishing that.'
Jen is the Editor (Digital) of Homes & Gardens. Before starting this position, she had completed various interior design courses at KLC Design School, as well as working across Ideal Home, LivingEtc, 25 Beautiful Homes and Country Homes & Interiors as an interiors writer.
She continues, 'The bright pops of blue in Selena Gomez's kitchen are subtle enough that the room retains its neutral feel while gaining a bit of an edge.'

Next time you're considering a kitchen remodel, the first place to look may be what's in your cabinets. A few well placed colorful accessories can make a huge difference, and Selena Gomez's home is the prime example.
