Martha Stewart designed a statement velvet armchair specifically for urban living – it brings a vintage charm to small spaces (and is under $337)
Martha just made small-space design simpler – this stand-out piece is one of our favorites, and it's secretly reduced on Wayfair now

Martha Stewart may be synonymous with farmhouse living (thanks to her iconic Bedford Farm estate), but urban settings are never far from her mind. The lifestyle expert has designed a sleek velvet armchair, aka a jewel of the Martha Stewart collection, and it's quietly discounted on Wayfair for a limited time.
According to the specifications, the Anna Velvet Armchair (available at Wayfair) is made to embody urban living,' giving any space a 'handsome allure' thanks to its vintage silhouette and luxurious velvet finish. It's a staple of her 'Perry Street RTA furniture collection,' which, as the name suggests, celebrates city living and creates perfect pieces for those who are styling urban townhouses and apartments.
However, a chair that is this beautiful doesn't need a zip code exclusive to the city. We think it's versatile enough to elevate the corner of a country home, or farmhouse (in Martha's case) – and it's so easy to style, as designers explain.
Perfect for urban living and beyond, Martha upholstered this chair in soft velvet fabric to bring instant luxury to your living room. It features a dark coffee finish on the solid wood legs and a lumbar pillow for extra comfort and support. It's designed to celebrate a lifestyle that's ''understated, efficient, and sometimes glamorous,' distinguished by beautiful colors and the highest quality materials.
When introducing Anna Velvet Armchair (or any accent chair) to your living room or bedroom, Zara Fong, a designer at King Living, says that you need to consider both the chair's design and the room's existing look. 'The chair should be bold enough to draw attention and harmonize with the room's colour scheme, texture, and overall aesthetic,' she says.
'Choose a chair with a vibrant color [such as the Anna Armchair] or pattern that contrasts with the rest of the room to make it stand out while ensuring it complements the overall palette.'
Alternatively, if you're decorating with neutrals, look for an accent with a unique shape to make a statement without compromising your color palette.
'If opting for a neutral or cohesive palette, choose a design with a more unique shape or form to add visual interest,' Zara says. ' You can also position the armchair as a focal point in the room, such as near a window with natural light or as part of a cozy reading nook.'

Regarding accessories, Zara recommends pairing your chair with a plush throw blanket, a distinctive side table, or a statement floor lamp to enhance the appeal.' We've made the process even simpler by listing some of our favorites below.
Crafted in India from 100% cotton with an organic texture, this pillow’s cover is surrounded with a thick tassel fringe for a bit of boho appeal. It's the unique addition you've been looking for.
The handmade blanket is made of high-quality chenille yarn to keep the blanket durable and super soft. Its eco-friendly dyeing process provides extra softness and comfort for those with sensitive skin.
This super soft velvet pillow is a great way to add a burst of cherry red without over-committing to such a deep color. Plus, that playful striped trim adds a touch of pattern, too.
