Organizing a closet is, for many of us, an ongoing process. From finding the perfect hangers to arranging accessories, keeping the closet tidy and visually pleasing requires some strategic planning.

When we saw that Luisana Lopilato gave a mini-tour of her and husband Michael Buble's closet, we were intrigued by her aesthetically pleasing walk-in and, more specifically, her jewelry and accessory storage.

In the clip shared on her Instagram page, we can see that Lopilato has utilized drawer dividers, along with jewelry stands, to keep her delicate accessories organized and easily accessible. Additionally, she has kept bags stocked on the above shelves, where they are visible and neatly lined up. Needless to say, it's giving us some closet organization ideas. The best part? You can tap into their method from under $17.

According to experts, Lopilato and Buble's mix of open shelving units and closed drawers and boxes is ideal for creating a harmonious (and organized) closet.

'Beautiful design is all about creating balance,' says design expert Laura Watson. 'I like to have both open and closed storage solutions. Have only essential products on show to avoid unnecessary clutter.'

She continues, 'People often cram too much into closets, cabinets, and drawers, which can make it difficult to find items and lead to items bursting out. It’s important to leave some breathing room in storage areas to keep them functional.'

By separating jewelry into distinct storage units (for example, small items like rings are placed in drawer holders, while necklaces hang from a stand on top of the dresser), Lopilato has ensured that accessory clutter is minimized.

Watson says that Lopilato's bag storage is also key: 'Many people forget to utilize vertical space, such as walls and high shelves - missed opportunities for additional storage and organization,' she explains.

She also recommends labeling any items clearly to make finding items even simpler, and coming up with a strategy prior to purchasing any storage solutions.

'Without proper organization systems, even the best storage solutions can become chaotic,' Watson states. 'Using labeled bins and baskets helps keep everything in its place and makes items easy to find.'

She continues, 'Jumping into space-saving projects without a clear plan can lead to inefficient use of space and resources. Taking the time to measure, plan, and visualize the layout can result in a more effective and aesthetically pleasing outcome.'

I recommend taking stock of how much jewelry you own and basing your box/organizer purchases on that – flat trays are great for big collections, while a single box might suffice for a small one.
