Kieran Culkin's staged entryway is a masterclass in making a lasting impression – experts say his method creates a 'cohesive design scheme'
The Oscar nominee's entryway features a console with storage, elegant lighting, and bright artwork – all of which make the space feel chic and welcoming

Typically, we think of staging a home as a process that is connected to selling. However, taking this approach to certain parts of a property can actually be a strategic decorating move. Case in point: Kieran Culkin's entryway.
The Oscar-nominanted actor's wife, Jazz Charton, shared a snap of their home's front hallway, and we were struck by how the minimal, intentional decorating leaves a great first impression. From the dark, handsome console table to the inviting seating, the space is as functional as it is stylish, proving that staging a house can be a multi-purpose practice.
Entryways are the first part of a home we see, so creating a welcoming, refined, and cohesive space is crucial. With a few simple accessories, a staged-worthy front entrance is highly achievable.

According to experts, one of the best ways to design an entryway is to make it unique to your tastes.
'Personalize your entryway with art and decorative accents,' suggests designer Nina Lichtenstein. 'Whether it's a gallery wall of family photos, a piece of artwork, a vase of flowers, or decorative objects like geodes, sculptures, or plants, these elements add character and make the space feel like an extension of your home. Personalized artwork completed by the family or treasures collected from travels abroad can add a special touch.'
We can see that Kieran and Jazz have opted for simple yet bold artworks hanging on either wall, which add a pop of color to the otherwise white space.
Additionally, Nina recommends decorating with mirrors and incorporating reflective surfaces for practical and aesthetic reasons.

'Mirrors are versatile entryway staples,' she says. 'They not only make the space feel larger and brighter but also provide a last-minute check before you head out the door. Find a mirror with an eye-catching frame that complements your decor.'
Entryways can often become cluttered as they are high-traffic areas, so Nina suggests incorporating furnishings and accessories that will keep everything tidy.
'Keeping the entryway organized is essential,' she explains. 'Built-in cubbies, baskets, trays, and hooks help manage clutter and keep items within reach. Look for stylish storage options that blend with your decor while providing practical solutions for everyday use.'
Investing in a console table with supplementary storage, like Kieran and Jazz's, is a fantastic way to achieve this, combining function and fashion.'
Above all, ensure that furniture and accessory styles are complementary, creating a uniform appearance that is pleasing to the eye.
'By reflecting the style and personality of your home, the entryway can create a cohesive design scheme, seamlessly connecting the entry with other living spaces,' Nina says.
