Kenny G (a.k.a Kenneth Gorelick) built the house in 1995 with the so-called ‘King of the Mega-Mansion’ Richard Landry, who has designed properties for other household names such as Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen.
The current owner Bruce McCaw, a pioneer in the cellular industry, bought the house from Kenny in 1995. The house was originally listed for $85 million, making it the most expensive listing ever in the history of the Seattle area, before the price dropped to $70 million last week.
The Lake Washington waterfront listing sits on 4.3 acres of land in Seattle’s exclusive Hunt’s Point community. The artfully built estate is finely crafted of sandstone. Kenny G’s former estate commands 327 feet of shoreline with a dock large enough to accommodate a 150+ food yacht and a seaplane. The property includes a pool, a tennis court, a cabana, a guest cottage, and a staff house. And that’s just the outside.
The interiors of the home are even more impressive. The home has a European-inspired base and an inside look feels like stepping into the French countryside. Floor-to-ceiling steel windows allow maximum natural light and a stunning view of the nearby lake for the house’s residents.
Arching ceilings, marble columns, and intricate white molding on the cream-colored walls elevate the look of the house. Chic marble fireplaces scattered throughout the house continue the ‘old world’ feel of the space. Dark rich hardwood floors offer the finishing touch.
The space for accommodation and extensive waterfront property make it the perfect home for hosting guests and parties. The 17,599 square foot home has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms and includes a sleek in-home gym filled with light. All of the look is carefully calculated and elegantly executed, and it’s no surprise that the home was designed with the taste of jazz royalty in mind.
