Christmas decor extends well beyond the tree (though it is arguably the centerpiece of holiday stylings). An underrated yet impactful spot for seasonal decor, however, is a mantelpiece, and we have the perfect source of inspiration.

Kendall Jenner shared a photo of her decorative corner on her Instagram page, and we love her traditional approach to styling a mantel. The model and reality TV star opted to drape her white mantel with an over-flowing green garland, which is interwoven with string lights. It creates a uniform appearance with the tree, which is placed next to the mantel.

Additionally, she has added pops of red with some hung stockings decorated with nostalgic holiday imagery. Paired with the tree, the room is a masterclass in Christmas decor, but we admit, the mantel is enough to impress individually.

While the overflowing look is somewhat maximalist (yet remains traditonal), it's refreshingly easy to recreate. Thick garlands, lights, and bright red stockings make up the base of the decor – so these items make a perfect starting point. We also recommend adding ever-popular bows for a touch of whimsy or introducing some pre-lit garlands to minimize the fuss of setting up.

Alongside thick, overflowing garlands, award-winning interior designer Tara Rodrigues suggests adding natural elements to your fireplace mantle to create a warm, cozy, and grounded atmosphere.

'Eucalyptus and Holly are marvelous for both color and fragrance. Adding a couple of nice twigs on a mantelpiece with some baubles on ribbons [much like the one above] or fishing wire makes for a simple and cost-effective festive glow-up,' she notes. 'I also love using small logs or bark slices as candle stands or decorative accessories to add a rustic charm. Dried Citrus and Cinnamon Sticks smell amazing when paired with candles or garlands.'
