Kelly Osbourne's anti-trend Christmas tree includes colorful lights and eclectic baubles – for a 'Kitschmas' look that's shoppable from under $10
The personality's colorful Christmas tree makes the case for maximalist holiday decor – while the tree's color happens to be right on trend for 2024
It's the most wonderful time of the year, which means we are hard at work preparing our homes for Christmas. The only thing that rivals the joy of decorating a Christmas tree is scouring the internet for Christmas decor ideas, and we just found an excellent option courtesy of Kelly Osbourne.
The TV personality opted for an unorthodox, ice-blue Christmas tree and adorned it with an assortment of colored lights, along with some playful, pop culture-forward baubles. According to experts, the pastel look is very much in for 2024.
'Christmas decor trends usually flitter around the traditional: bows, felts, and deep winter colors. However, 2024 has thrown a slightly unusual one out there: the anti-traditional trend is gaining a lot of popularity and switching out from the conformist red and green (not including the "Brat" green that follows from summer to winter) for quirkier options such as pink and blue,' comments 'Scott Jones, a trends expert from Fab Home Interiors.
'An almost punk take on Christmas, there are, of course, still nods to the holiday, avant-garde Christmas trees, for example – switching out spruce for paper, ceramic, or different colors.'

Below, find a selection of Christmas accessories that are perfect for recreating Osbourne's look.
Highly-rated
For the ultimate bold Christmas statement, we're looking to this Osbourne-inspired tree. It's a break for convention, but we expect it's a look that's worth the risk, if you dare.
Ice Blue
Like Osbourne's, only slightly more muted. This icier blue is a beautiful alternative for those looking to flirt with blue without it being so attention grabbing. The pre-lit feature also means you can avoid the fuss of placing lights and get on with the fun part of decorating (the ornaments).
Highly-rated
If you adore the 1990s aesthetic (similar to the one we see in Osbourne's space), then you'll love these multi-colored lights – best-sellers on Amazon – I will also be buying these for my 'fun' tree.
Playful design
More is often more when it comes to decorating at Christmas. With a signature blend of bold colors and quirky patterns, this playful ornament can be used year-round. It wouldn't look out of place on Osbourne's tree, which makes it all the more tempting to buy ahead of the holidays.
Harry Styles
Yes, you did notice Harry Styles on the tree. This fun alternative is a must for any Styles fan – it's light-hearted and fun without feeling too gimmicky. What more could a music fan want in an ornament?
Iconic character
Make your tree more stylish with the Holiday Barbie 2024 Hallmark Christmas ornament. Alternatively, this would make the perfect gift for Barbie fans.
Melissa Denham, an interior design expert, adds that this look taps into the Kitschmas interior design trend – meaning it's a 'celebration of maximalism and playful nostalgia, perfect for those who want to bring humor and individuality to their décor.'
'This year, it’s all about going bold,' she says. 'Think bright, candy-colored trees adorned with quirky ornaments – retro baubles, food-shaped decorations, and even celebrity-inspired designs [as we see on Osbourne's tree]. 'To nail this trend, lean into eclectic mixes of oversized decorations, shimmering tinsel, and unconventional tree toppers. Kitschmas is a joyful departure from traditional red and green palettes, embracing a vibrant, delightfully chaotic style that guarantees a fun and memorable setup.'
