Keke Palmer's earthy living room sofa taps into the 'pistachio green' trend taking over in 2025 – it brings contemporary sophistication to any room
A green velvet sofa brings stylish warmth to Keke Palmer's living room, the color is on trend and easy to style in any home with neutral accents

The color green is a brilliant way to infuse a natural feel into any room. In Keke Palmer's living room, a velvet pistachio-colored sofa makes a warm and stylish impact.
We spotted the actress's chosen couch color in an Instagram post with her son. The image shows her marbled gray and white carpet and the tan pillows she uses to accent the sofa. In the background, she has arranged a bronze lamp next to a wooden sideboard. The walls and curtains in the room are white. Overall, it's stylish, cozy, and warm.
Clearly, Keke isn't the only one who likes the color. Pistachio green is quickly becoming a couch color trend for 2025. Lena Gierasinska, interior designer at Barker and Stonehouse, explains: 'Pistachio homeware is trending because it strikes the perfect balance between timeless elegance and contemporary appeal. This soft, muted green brings a sense of tranquillity and sophistication to interiors, making it a versatile choice for both modern and classic spaces alike. Its natural, earthy tone complements neutral palettes while adding a refreshing pop of color that feels both organic and uplifting.'

Integrate a stunning pop of pistachio green with these mouth-blown waterglasses. They would look gorgeous on a tablescape with a white tablecloth and plates.
Brighten your shelves with this innovative bubble vase. Style with small white flowers or, Keke Palmer's pick, pampas grass.
Storage favorite
These green and white metal storage trays are the ideal catch all for anywhere in your home. Style them in an entryway or on a living room side table for a stunning look.
Green living rooms are also becoming a common choice because of how they tap into the timeless appeal of natural materials. 'Additionally, as nature-inspired aesthetics continue to gain popularity, pistachio aligns with the desire for soothing, grounding environments,' explains Lena. 'Whether in furniture, textiles or ceramics, this shade offers a subtle yet stylish way to introduce color into the home.'
Alongside the living room, interior expert Shelley Cochrane explains that this color trend is just as prevalent in a bedroom. In this space, incorporating a couch is trickier, but there are ways to make an impression that's just as beautiful.
'For a dreamy, pistachio-infused bedroom, start with soft, layered textiles. A pistachio duvet cover or throw adds a gentle wash of color, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere. Pair it with crisp white or warm terracotta sheets for a fresh contrast,' Shelley says.
'Upholstered headboards or accent chairs in pistachio velvet bring depth and a touch of luxury. For a modern twist, incorporate sculptural lighting in wooden finishes to further nod to nature. Finally, add texture with woven rugs, linen curtains, or ceramic vases in complementary shades like sage to create a serene, sophisticated retreat."
