Katherine Heigl's vacuum is perfect for giving your couch a deep clean – our home tech editor discusses whether her pick is right for you
The actress uses a wet/dry vacuum on her sofa, which experts love for their ability to remove stains and conduct a deep clean

For some of us, cleaning is more of a hobby rather than a chore when you have the best gadgets under your belt. Katherine Heigl is clearly in this camp of cleaners after sharing a video of herself cleaning her sofa with a vacuum – and by the look on her face, the product is as effective as it is fun to use.
While the Grey's Anatomy and 27 Dresses star uses a RipClean model that she proudly declares she found on TikTok, we got our Home Tech editor, Dan Fauzi, to give us some insight on the best vacuum cleaner options to get a couch as clean as Katherine's.
'If you're looking for a wet/dry vacuum, you can go for a rugged Shop-Vac like the one Katherine uses, but there are also vacuum-mop combos like the Dreame H14 Pro and Tineco Floor One Stretch S6 that vacuum, mop and remove stains,' Dan explains. 'They're the full package for deep cleaning hard floors, but they're limited to floor cleaning, and you won't be able to use any nozzles or attachments or clean carpets like you can with a wet/dry vacuum.'

This model comes with an 'Express Clean Mode,' ensuring that your carpets and area rugs dry in about 30 minutes, so you don't have to avoid your floors.
'It may be more expensive than other carpet cleaners out there, but the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam truly is one of the best,' Dan says in his review of the product. 'Its unique steaming feature breaks down dirt and tough stains to make them easier to clean, and you can use this whenever you're passing over an area of the carpet that needs extra cleaning power.'
This sleek vacuum can fit into spaces as low as 5.51 inches for the entire body and 3.86 inches for the brush head, making it a great option for those with hard-to-reach crevices in their homes.
Katherine is seen using a wet/dry vacuum, which provides a deep and efficient clean on surfaces like couches, which require a little extra TLC. These are also ideal for changing out attachments, which are super helpful for getting into nooks and crevices, or cleaning soft surfaces, like sofas and cushions. Although how often you deep clean a couch can range from 6-12 months, some more regular upkeep with a vacuum never hurt.
