Trust J.Lo to have a closet worth replicating. The singer has spent more than three decades dominating fashion conversations – but while her clothes are inevitably something to note, we're even more drawn to her room's design.

In her walk-in closet, Lopez exhibits bespoke, floor-to-ceiling wardrobes – most of which are made up of a mirrored door and drawers. However, instead of allowing the door to stretch the entirety of her wall, she has left some space above – creating storage nooks that are as decorative as they are functional. J.Lo has filled these nooks with handbags, meaning she is simultaneously storing them sagely while showing them off to anyone who visits her closet.

The nooks serve a similar purpose to open shelving in a kitchen. They offer closet organization ideas that don't involve hiding possessions away. Instead, they make use of every inch of space while bringing a sense of personality to an otherwise functional space. Some things aren't meant to be hidden – and that includes your favorite handbags.

Vertical storage has long impressed professional organizers in every room of the home, but arguably nowhere benefits more than a closet. This is where following Lopez's lead matters the most, and as experts explain, her look can translate to any sized space.

'To maximize wardrobe storage, use all available height and make the most of the corners to allow easy access to all parts of the room while creating extra storage space,' comments Philipp Nagel, the director at Neatsmith. Alongside vertical cabinets, he recommends investing in intelligent storage solutions that best use any space you have.

'Additional storage solutions, such as bespoke baskets and drawers designed to fit neatly inside the wardrobe, are ideal for keeping miscellaneous items like chargers, hairdryers, and straighteners out of sight, helping to maintain a clutter-free space,' Nagel comments.

One last lesson we can take? The importance of hanging. While we can't explicitly see how Lopez hangs her garments, we're sure they're well organized behind glass mirrored doors.

'We also recommend hanging your clothes as this is a great solution to maximize space and is a cost-effective option for clients,' Nagel explains.

'Hanging clothes also helps to prevent creases and wrinkles in garments, ensuring they remain in pristine condition, especially for delicate items like linen. This applies to everything from jumpers and trousers to linen.'
