Jennifer Aniston's deep soaking tub is a zen focal point in her outdoor bathroom – it perfects a growing trend with wellness benefits
The actress's backyard features a marble soaking tub and lush greenery, instantly elevating the area with luxe materials and calming plants

The only thing better than soaking in a tub is soaking in an outdoor tub. For those of us with a backyard space, turning our outdoor areas into spa-like atmospheres is a great way to bring relaxation (and sophistication) to our homes.
Jennifer Aniston's garden bathroom is on board with the trend, giving us some spa bathroom ideas via her outdoor soaking tub. The gorgeous marble tub is sunken, allowing for optimal deep soaking. Additionally, it is surrounded by lush greenery, which contrasts with the hard stone material.
While we are still in the depths of winter, it is not too early to start planning out a spathroom of your own – and experts say a soaking tub is key in curating a relaxing ambiance outside.

When considering bathtub types, a soaking tub is distinct in its appearance and benefits, as we can see with Jennifer Aniston's sunken tub.
Karen Larson, co-founder of Soake Pools, explains that 'a soaking tub is generally deeper than a standard bathtub; around at least 20" to 29" in depth.'
Meanwhile, in terms of materials, Karen states, 'Concrete with mosaic tile or cedar are the best materials for a soaking tub as they feel the most natural on the skin, and are both reminiscent of ancient times when deep soaking tubs were the norm.'
While Jennifer's marble tub is certainly stunning, it is important to be mindful that it can be slippery, and as such, a step stool is likely required to purchase in addition to the tub itself. However, other experts say that stone is a great choice for those looking to create a luxe feel in their backyard.

'The focal point of a relaxing and bathroom suite is the bath itself,' says Mike Whitfield, luxury interiors expert at LUSSO. 'Where space allows, adding a luxurious stone bath will always elevate your bathroom, allowing you to enjoy the space for longer periods whilst you soak.'
Additionally, Jennifer has lush greenery surrounding the tub, tapping into a zen garden-inspired trend that we have been seeing in interiors over the last several months. Plants such as Japanese holly, Japanese maple, and potted acer make great additions to a soothing garden, adding delicate greenery and plenty of volume to any space.

Evoke peace and tranquillity in a traditional Japanese garden with sound. Made from durable cast iron, this captivating wind chime will provide a gentle soothing noise.
This slow-release candle is filled with the spa-like freshness of eucalyptus leaves, melding into an enchanting green forest. Plus, the recognizable glass holder looks beautiful on any bathroom shelf.
Not only is this a beautiful bath-side plant, but it bears delicious olives, perfect for snacking on in the summer months.
Designed with a 'spa-like look and feel' but versatile enough for everyday use, these towels are soft and durable. Famously, they're the ones used in Drew Barrymore's shower room (which is an endorsement you can trust).
This slatted design provides a non-slip surface to dry off when stepping out of a fresh, relaxing shower. It's a spa-bathroom must-have, whether you have a sinking tub or not.
Japanese holly makes an excellent box substitute hedges. Although it has no berries, this holly can be pruned into all sorts of shapes – great for adding structure and privacy to your borders.
While the tub itself is an investment, Jennifer Aniston's backyard proves that with the addition of natural materials and some varied greenery, a space can be transformed into an oasis in just a few simple steps. We are definitely taking notes as the warmer months approach.
