Think of Iris Apfel, and one element likely comes to mind: color. The renowned fashion/interior designer and businesswoman, who died earlier this year, leaves behind a vibrant trail of designs, some of which are continuing to be released posthumously.

Having collaborated with Ruggable for two previous collections, Apfel's third range is available today, and it is perhaps the most whimsical one yet.

The brand (that we consider one of the best places to buy rugs) teased the new drop back in August, with two multicolor designs arriving for a limited release. Now, the rugs (the Ambroeus Royal Plum Rug and Protea Forest Green Rug, respectively) have made their return, comprising just a couple of the 11 new designs.

Naturally, maximalism runs across the various designs, which feature animal illustrations and intricate, floral patterns (not to mention the glorious colors – golden ochres, midnight blues, and desert greens make up the palette). The designs are inspired by Apfel's affinity for textiles, along with her vast collection of jewellry antiques.

As dopamine decor continues to permeate design trends, the collection is a welcome addition to any home needing a bit of a pick-me-up.

As with all their rugs, the Iris Apfel 3.0 collection are all machine washable, making stain removal so much easier. They also come in a wide assortment of sizes, ranging from kitchen runners to full-size bedroom rugs.

The door mats, in particular, are a welcome addition, providing the front of the home with Apfel's signature sense of play, humor, and quirk. They're the perfect way to make a first impression worthy of a design icon.

Prices of the rugs begin at $129. Shop our picks below, and browse the entire collection here.
