The late, great Iris Apfel is perhaps best known for her maximalist tendencies. An ambassador of color and bold prints, the interior and fashion designer made a case for a more-is-more approach to decor – naturally, this affinity translates to her posthumous projects.

The style maven brought her bold sensibilities to Ruggable, with two previous collections released over the last couple of years, and in honor of what would have been Apfel's 103rd birthday, the rug brand has produced a third iteration.

Embracing a dopamine decor state of mind, the latest drop from Ruggable x Iris Apfel includes two new rug designs, which both feature floral motifs and colorful backgrounds.

According to a press release, the collection is inspired by Apfel's personal textile library, which was created in partnership with the designer before she passed away earlier this year.

'The third iteration of the Ruggable x Iris Apfel collection, which we were able to work on with Iris before her passing, is an incredible tribute to her life,' says Cassandra Leisz, senior creative director at Ruggable. 'Iris’ extraordinary vision and unparalleled style have left an indelible mark on the world of design, and we’re honored to play a small part in ensuring her legacy lives on.'

The two new flat woven designs are available in a range of shapes and sizes, from hallway runners to large area rugs. The best part? The two designs are just a sneak peek of a full collection set to debut this autumn.

For now, shop the two rugs (along with some of our favorite items from her previous collections) below. Prices start at $129.

The Protea Forest Green Rug is clearly inspired by magnificent gardens. Featuring a dark green backgorund and a variety of pink, lavender, yellow, and red blooms, this botanical design is a floral-lover's dream accessory.

Meanwhile, the Iris Apfel Ambroeus Royal Plum Rug takes cues from Apfel's hand-painted heirloom scarves and vintage textile collection. A green border encloses around the purple base, as crimson, pink, and white poppies dance with hidden ladybug motifs.

Both rugs are fabulous ways of bringing the natural world into the home—not to mention a solid dose of color. They're the most playful yet stylish way to tap into the happiest design trend of the year.
