The Home Edit's closet makeovers are always swoon-worthy, and Gabrielle Union's space is no exception. The Bring It On actress's closet is one of the best we've ever seen.

An Instagram video shows the final reveal of Union's closet storage, especially the vanity that has been designed for easy access to hair and makeup products. The Home Edit built the space with an abundance of plastic organizers including drawers and turntables, effectively maximizing the space. It's not only aesthetically pleasing, but easy to use.

Experts love the way that Union's closet has been designed using closet organizers. Kevin Connors, Arizona-based Professional Organizer at Inspired Organizers, says: 'There are a few things that I like about how this organization was done. First, the plastic bins perfectly fill the cabinet space, which not only gives the cabinet interior a great aesthetic but doesn't leave any space unused. The use of the Lazy Susan on top of the square organizing bins allows for storage of both small items and large bottles in the cabinet, also a great use of space.'

He continues, 'The clear drawers allow you to see the product inside while still keeping everything inside well-contained. The simple drawer trays are open for easy access and were also measured to perfectly fit the drawer, preventing any of them from sliding around inside the drawer and creating a mess after the hard work of organizing it is done.' Though organizing drawers is one of the simplest ways to elevate your storage, it's also one of the most overlooked.

'Spinning turntables prevent items from getting lost behind things on deep shelves, while drawers allow you to pull items closer to see their contents,' adds Professional organizer Sara Bereika. She continues, 'The right drawer can be removed and put back with ease. These bins can also be repurposed in various ways, making them ideal for storing different items as our storage needs can change often.'

Furthermore, these organizers have been chosen like a pro with careful planning and measuring. Bereika states: 'The closet space maximizes storage using products that fit the space efficiently. There are no large gaps between bins, leaving unused storage space. The height of the containers also fits the space perfectly, so there are no storage gaps above items either.'

Shop The Edit

To help you recreate the look, we tracked down the exact organizers used in Gabrielle Union's closet. Lazy susans and turntables create the perfect spot to store makeup products, while drawer organizers are perfect for clothing and accessories. Honestly, we just wish we could buy everything at The Container Store.

However, before purchasing, Bereika recommends: 'To achieve this look, measure your spaces and items before shopping. Count all your items to determine the required storage space. It's ideal to reduce clutter while counting, of course. Don’t forget to measure the height, depth, and width of the storage containers you buy and the items you have. It can be frustrating if an item is too tall to fit where you need it.'

If you are looking at Gabrielle Union's closet thinking you want to recreate the look in your home but don't know where to start, you can tap into the cardinal rule of organizing: take it slow. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was Gabrielle Union's closet. By breaking up your organization process into bite-sized chunks, it will make it feel less daunting and allow you to spend more time and energy on each part. First, start by going through the closet and getting rid of anything you don't wear or use frequently. Then, you can go about building your organizational system. Finally, you can start adding your items to the already-built system. If these steps feel too big, you can even break them down further. Organizing a closet aesthetically isn't an easy process, but it's a worthwhile one.

Gabrielle Union's closet is a beautiful demonstration of what's possible with the right organizers and the right attitude. With a little help from Homes & Gardens and The Home Edit, anything is possible.
