Dwayne Wade's clever shoe storage maximizes closet space – professional organizers say it's their preferred method
Clear boxes take advantage of vertical space in basket ball player Dwayne Wade's extensive shoe closet – professional organizers explain how to recreate it

The best closets combine fashion and function. You want your storage to be a relaxing space that is pleasant to look at, but also makes the most of the space you have. Basketball player Dwayne Wade's closet is one such space.
The former point guard's shoe storage idea was put together by the famous organizing duo, The Home Edit. It is stacked ceiling-high with sneakers on shelves. They are organized by color and style. It's a masterclass in closet design.
'While Dwayne Wade may have more shoes than most people, the best way to store shoes is to keep like styles and colors together,' explains Juliana Meidl, a professional organizer at Serenity at Home of his closet organization idea. 'Now, in this case, all of his shoes are the same style, so organizing by color is important so people can truly see what they have. Often, we don't realize we have many similar items because not everything we own is visible and together.'
