Daisy Edgar Jones warms her industrial living room with this textured decorating trick – it's a masterclass in classic NY style
The 'Twister’ actress achieves a raw yet chic living room via curated furniture and accessories – designers say it's a pure celebration of her urban zip code
New York City is known for seamlessly blending urban design with rustic style – and arguably, nobody knows this quite like Daisy Edgar Jones.
The Twister actress shared a candid snap of her living room via Instagram, and it's clear that she designed it with her zip code in mind. The home’s design choices pay homage to the rustic-modern feel of the city, incorporating quintessential features such as exposed brick and hardwood floors. However, despite these raw elements, the actress's space doesn't feel uninviting.
Edgar-Jones balanced the room's industrial style with personal touches such as the delicate white curtains tied (elegantly into knots at the bottom). She pairs these with other textured pieces, including a textured couch, accent chair, and an array of plants that contrast the room's industrial backdrop. It's a decorating technique that hasn't gone unnoticed by designers, including Nina Lichtenstein, who describes the space as a charming testament to the actress’s love for the city.

Firstly, Lichtenstein describes the exposed brick walls as a ‘nod to New York’s architectural heritage, bringing an authentic, textured backdrop to the space. 'When paired with the light hardwood floors, ‘the room feels open and airy, balancing the ruggedness of the brick with a touch of elegance.’
Edgar-Jones's personal touches are just as important. Lichtenstein notes how the choice of the white curtains to frame the windows ‘allows for a soft diffused light to pour in, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.'
Indoor plants are similarly simple but effective ways to refresh a space, as Edgar-Jones demonstrates via her eclectic collection on her windowsill. 'The collection of verdant plants breathes life into the room, infusing it with a natural, calming essence that contrasts beautifully with the urban vibe of the brick walls,' Lichtenstein notes.
Edgar-Jones’ choice of furniture further warms the space the centerpiece being her stylish textured white sofa which Lichtenstein says, ‘offers a plush, comfortable spot to relax’.

Edgar-Jones pairs the sofa with a brown wooden armchair. Both adorned with neutral-coloured throw pillows which ‘add subtle character and charm.’ Together these various elements ‘create a cohesive, harmonious look, balancing texture and comfort.’
The actress continues the theme of mismatched wood tones and materials incorporating a glass coffee table made up of dark wood with a metal frame and an on-trend translucent surface. This style is repeated in the end table next to the couch and Lichtenstein describes the two tables as ‘industrial-chic – perfectly complementing the exploded brick walls and the overall aesthetic of the apartment.’
Finally, no room is complete without a piece of art to add interest to the walls. Edgar-Jones adheres to this rule, including a single framed art piece hanging between the two windows. The art ‘pulls together the room’s color palette and serves as a focal point that ties the entire space together. 'Overall, the space is the perfect blend of New York's urban spirit and cozy, personal touches, creating a space that is both stylish and inviting.’

When it comes to design choices, hybrid styles like ‘rustic-modern’ are growing increasingly popular, as shown in Edgar-Jones’ apartment. Combining industrial styles with homely touches is the perfect way to elevate and add depth to any space, even those beyond the Empire State.
