Claudia Schiffer chose this natural hue to create a 'calming' sleep space, designers say
From wall paint to bedding, blue in the bedroom is a match made in heaven
Claudia Schiffer's Instagram is the ultimate mood board. Between the model and Argylle star's posts of old photoshoots, glam red carpet shots, and snaps of her adorable cat, Chip, we are hooked.
Her interiors, in particular, are striking us with inspiration lately, specifically her bedroom. In a recent post, which shows her cozying up in a blue bedroom with Chip, she shows off a gorgeous bluish-gray painted wall that is both sophisticated and serene.
Blue paint is a favorite in the home for its calming and crowd-pleasing properties and endless hues, which can suit a variety of rooms. It's trendy yet timeless, according to experts.

'Blue is the new black,' Martin Waller, founder of Andrew Martin, says. 'The boldness and warmth found in blue will continue to be prominent in our homes.'
Martin Waller is the founder of Andrew Martin and he remains at the heart of the brand to this day. He has produced 23 books, appeared on television in the UK, US, China, India, Russia and the Middle East. He has written extensively about travel for a variety of magazines, including the Financial Times, and has served on the advisory boards of Molton Brown and KLC Design School. In 2017, he was named in The Evening Standard's list of 1000 Most Influential Londoners.
There is perhaps no better room to incorporate blues into than the place we sleep and unwind; the bedroom, which, as Martin explains, a prime design hub in the home.
'More care and attention will be placed in our bedrooms as we spend more time at home and have an increased appreciation of the space,' he says. 'Our bedroom interiors should be as individual as the people that inhabit them.'
Naturally, one of the best places to start with blue accessories for bedroom is bedding.

It can have a positive effect on mood as it connects us to a blue sky or ocean found in nature, which helps us to feel relaxed,' explains Joanna Ross, General Manager at Sheridan. 'Whether you add a dark blue feature wall or incorporate a blue textured quilt cover, the color blue is known to help calm the mind and produce a feeling of tranquillity – and who isn’t looking for some of this before going to sleep at night.'
From quilts to duvets, find the perfect blue bedding set to set a calming mood in the bedroom with one of the trendiest colors right now.
