Decorator's Address Book is a monthly series in which our Interior Design team finds out where designers like to browse and shop for their projects. Each edition focuses on a different element of home decor to bring you the best expert-recommended stores.

The beginning of a new year always comes with the desire to update our spaces – whether it's a full remodel or subtle updates. And with either approach, lighting comes into play.

For our first edition of Decorators Address Book for 2025, we're focusing on bathroom lighting ideas. It's an element that differs from choosing fixtures in other rooms, as well as needing to look stylish and feel cohesive with your bathroom's design style, it needs to be able to withstand the damp conditions safely.

So, to discover the brands, stores, and retailers who offer the best pieces, we've asked interior designers for their favorite places to shop for bathroom lighting – and their recommendations offer plenty of variety.

Here's where interior designers find stylish bathroom lighting

For bathroom lighting fixtures that look chic, timeless, and are suitable for wet conditions, you need to invest in models designed for such use. Whether you're looking for wall lights, bathroom ceiling lights, or a statement bathroom chandelier, these are the brands, stores, and retailers to shop for expert-approved designs.

'For a fun twist on tradition, I'm a fan of using outdoor lighting in bathrooms, like this adorable sconce from Barn Light Electric Company. Like bathroom lighting, all of the fixtures will be damp or even wet rated so you don't have to worry about using them in even the steamiest of bathrooms. The finishes are meant to stand up to years of outdoor weather abuse so you know they'll hold up in your home with no problem. It's also nice to see something beyond the typical "bath bar" of lighting above the mirror.'
