Millie Fender
Millie Fender is Head of Reviews on the Homes & Gardens Ecommerce team. Before this, she was our Small appliances editor, and a lot of her time was spent reviewing new and exciting launches in the small appliance space, and recommending her favorite products to readers with her kitchen buying guides.
From stand mixers to toaster ovens, she loves products that will look the part in any kitchen space, but knows that even the most beautiful coffee maker is no good if it can't make delicious drinks and offer an enjoyable user experience. Because she reviews so many kitchen products, she is able to make direct comparisons between different brands and models to help you choose the right small appliance for you. Although she is by no means a professional, Millie is a real cooking enthusiast. She cares a lot about quality cookware that is designed to last, and whether it's drip coffee or a bread maker, she's cultivated quite a discerning palette through a lifetime of home cooking.
Millie graduated from Durham University in 2019, where she studied Politics and Philosophy. She spent a lot of time working on the campus newspaper as Deputy Editor-in-Chief, which is why she decided to go into journalism after graduating. Before joining Homes & Gardens in February 2021, Millie was a Staff Writer at TopTenReviews, another Future brand. She worked on a mix of buying content and news articles, and spent most of her time producing content for the home section of the site.
Millie was raised in Bath, England, which meant she was constantly surrounded by inspiring Georgian architecture and beautiful antiques. Although she now lives in London Millie still loves the countryside and plans on moving back to Somerset one day to buy a country cottage, complete with a range cooker and expansive wooden dining table.
